Sure Puljos and Bonds were just as good, but I dont think there's ever been a Baseball player who reached the popularity of Griffey across all genres.

dude was all over the commercials in the 90s, the "Griffey For President" Nike campaign with Lil Penny back in 96 was epic, nikka was even on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air

Yeah Griiffey jr is the last popular baseball player. Try as we like baseball just isn't popping. Or it isn't popping in the hood like it used to be. Not once do I see kids playing baseball.

Probably right, even his sneakers were selling well at one point...which seems unheard of when they wear cleats. Baseball is doing fine, the problem is that people are afraid to get behind a player because of all that steroid fiasco. Pujols is the god right now, but we need an American slugger and we will all rally around him. Matt Kemp is the real deal brehs, hopefully he gets over the injuries
