Backfire? You mean when he actually did take 30 shots a couple months after the quote and scored 61 points? :why:

Pretty sure he's referring to the 2015 finals where Lebron averaged over 30 shots per game and ended up shooting 40%.

Ah, so he's talking about something that happened a couple years later when Lebron wasn't even on the same team anymore, wasn't the same player anymore, and was playing 1-on-5 against an elite defensive team in the NBA Finals?

And that was relevant to Lebron's original quote about 37 shots in a regular-season game back in 2013 how? :mindblown:

His quote was, "I had [almost] 40 now with 18 shots, I mean.... If you give me 37 shots in a game, I’d put up 60."

And then two months later, he got 33 shots in a game and put up 61. EXACTLY what he said he would do, on even fewer shots. (That was the only game all season he took more than 28 shots.)

So how you gonna make backfire from some completely unrelated situation years later, when he already DONE what he said he would do? :mjlol:

It's a backfire for talking shyt. He disrespected what Durant was accomplishing on a nightly basis by implying that given that amount of shots he could do the same and that it'd be great to put up more shots so he could score more points. More shots doesn't mean you're going to score more points or be just as efficient and it was learned learned during that finals series. And he wasn't some washed up old player in 2015, fukk outta here with that Doesn't matter if it was the Warriors, the finals, or anything else. You shouldn't talk shyt like that and then expect it not to come back your way, so ya, it is backfire since he said "if you give me 37 shots in a game, I'd put up 60".

It's the same now with Lebron stans saying he could do what Westbrook is doing with ease if he wanted to. Sure, but would it result in wins? Would it result in an absurdly high win percentage when he does it? Trying to take away what others are accomplishing is just petty and childish.

WTF you talking about? :mindblown:

The quote was mocking Rudy Gay, it had nothing whatsoever to do with Kevin Durant.

Rudy Gay had just taken 37 shots in a game and only scored 29 points. Lebron took just 18 shots and scored 39 points. He said that if he had taken 37, he could get 60-70.

The quote had NOTHING to do with Durant. Durant didn't take no 37 shots in no game that season, and Durant was efficient as hell. You're clueless. :heh:

And Lebron DID back it up that very same season. He proved his point - took 33 shots, scored 61 points.

He didn't say that he could do that shyt years later in a fukking Finals game against a defensively loaded team playing 1-on-5....not to mention on a different team with a totally different strategy (efficient shooting was NOT going to win the 2015 Finals). That had NOTHING to do with it. He was talking about fukking Rudy Gay in a regular season game compared to how he himself was playing THAT year on THAT Miami Heat team.

You really shouldn't try to answer questions if you have no fukking clue what the quote was about. You literally made up an entire narrative surrounding it after the fact. :dead:

My bad, I was talking about this:

"I get jealous sometimes when I look over at KD and he's like 16-for-32 (from the field) and then 14-for-34. ... Man," James told ESPN.com's Tom Haberstroh.

James could stand to take more shots but explained, "I'm not much of a forced-shot guy.

"But there are games where I have it going, and then at the end of the game, I'm like, damn, I shot just 12-for-16? Why don't I get up at least six or seven more? I definitely notice it."

""First of all, you have to have an unbelievable mindset to get up 30 shots," James said. "I always think about it, though. If I get up high-20s, 30 shots a game, what could I do today, with the way I'm playing?"

Good being king? LeBron 'jealous' of Durant

I don't even remember the Rudy Gay shyt. I recalled this as he brought up 30+ attempts and the whole "what if" about if he got to shoot more. :yeshrug:

Its funny that LBJ is quietly almost averaging a triple double himself this season with 26, 8, 9 and everyone's reaction is well that's just Lebron:russell:

Westbrook is doing it without multiple all-stars on his team though. Defenses just don' t have to worry about Lebron on the floor you know, plus he has knock down shooters to bring those assist numbers up unlike OKC. If Lebron was doing this on a team lacking shooters like OKC then I would be impressed.

"I got a triple double on only 14 shots"

Or am I reaching ??
It's the "getting the whole team involved" that was the most blatant shot. I don't know why ppl are shocked by this though. If anything it was abnormal for a player of his stature to never throw any jabs at his closest rivals in the heat of competition

The fact that he's been doing it more the last couple of years, tells me either he pays too much attention to the media or he knows he's on the decline

It's sad people don't appreciate Lebron's greatness

Y'all going miss him when he gone. Telling your kids how you got to watch Lebron play like how old nikkas talk about Bird and Magic nowadays
