First off, that's whole lotta typing breh, shyt ain't that serious :whoa:

Secondly, Martin went off the air like 15 years ago. So please let me know what real topics he touched on in the show :comeon:
u created the thread:stopitslime:

but i guess u haven't watched the show.. racism, cacerism, relationships, men not being men, joblessness , aggressive women, hustling for money, pride (the boxing one), and mainly .... Funny shyt that didn't have to revolve around --situations that don'tt reflect most of black America, like cosbys did. I think we needed both types of shows.. over the top positive shyt and real shyt.

But what specifically :why:

What specifically did Martin do that was so ground breaking that makes you give him a pass for the same things you won't give TP a pass for??

He's just an extension of what Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy did before him.
he was a transition for basically the current 26-35 year olds....

and nothing about TP shyt is the same as the martin show... clearly TP's movies and shows are an extension to TRL thread topics, lol... Not that I don't like a few of his movies.... but obviously that shyt isn't catering to the black community as a whole.

This shyt right here had white people rolling on the floor,

Had them quoting this shyt for years like: "I love black people I just hate ******s :skip:"

It's clearly him catering to a white audience too

I know the comedy. He was telling people that all black aren't alike like all anglos aren't alike and the same stereotypes that depicts their opinions on black people as a whole. Was informing anglos that majority of black people despise the same BS too. It was genius.

edit: :russ: at cats using bad writing and direction as excuses to hate TP...it isnt like martin was thought provoking either :yeshrug:
are you being obtuse? who said Martin was thought provoking? :what:

writing great comedic material is great comedic material. Tyler Perry doesnt do that because he is incapable of doing it.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
The difference is, Martin's not believed to be gay in real life like Tyler Perry.
That's all these nikkas really care about, no matter how much they talk about all that other shyt.
no martin was actually funny... that's the difference.. and it was all jokes and meant to be complete bullshyt

meaning this nikka had a baby shoot out the p*ssy at 25 ft and turned to the camera and said "we don't need an umbilical cord tommy.... this is tv" fighting big ass rats and shyt... his mom having a mustache... these were meant to be super fake and funny

tyler perry acting madea isn't the issue...... it's his complete stories and all the characters... then he acts like he writing deep introspective heart felt black dramas with a little comedy in there. which are neither deep nor funny and they are meant to be 100% authentic.. nikka actually gets angry when it's brought up by spike that it's a minstrel show.. on some "no these are real black people in the ghetto and real problems they deal with"

but yes, TP owns his own shyt and employs more blacks than 99% of Hollywood.. he will always be respected for that... it's just still not funny... or deep... as he'd like us to believe

:whoa:

we r talking about
the martin show.

don't bring up that shyt... that's not the same martin from house party. That's post crazy

I stopped watching Martin after they got to deep with all that Gina and Martin relationship problem bullshyt. I dont need Martin to have arcing plot. Just be funny over and over again like Seinfeld. I stopped checking for Martin after Big Mammas House which is when he stopped being funny to me. That and that Tim Robbins movie.

Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins made me remember Martin again but then after i saw him dress up like Shanay nay for that Jamie Foxx Wanda movie, i remembered why i forgot him. Got his comedy cds committed to memory but damn, theres only so much i can take. Big Mamas House 3? :noah:

True but at the same time most white people don't differentiate between "black people" and "nikkas". To them, we're all nikkas.

That was his point of speaking about it.
