imo, Martin was c00ning. But fukk it, if Anchorman was a black cast that would be seen as c00ning too. Sometimes, good c00ning is hilarious.

what it is is that black people take everything so damn serious...white people can have all kinds of movies...from serious (oscar award type movies) to ron burgundy...

but nobody is on screaming that will ferrell is making white people look bad and reinforcing sterotypes

this is where I evolved on the topic. For a couple of years I felt I "wasn't supposed to" like Martin because it was obviously c00ning. It is c00ning, but its funny. I had to let go of that shyt because being consumed with "looking right" is paralyzing and unfair to black people. Martin was fukking funny, and I dont care that its c00ning. Adam Sandler's heyday in the late 90s was nothing but white c00ning, and Jewish people and white people didnt get up in arms. The frat boy white movies that come out is nothing but c00ning, and its funny. We need to let that shyt go as black people and laugh at it. Its funny, and there is nothing wrong with laughing at whats funny. The Judd Apatow shyts with Pineapple Express, Superbad etc, thats white c00nery.

Tyler Perry's shyt on the other hand is unfunny. Its c00ning, but in a terrible fashion but I dont criticize Tyler Perry movies for c00ning. I criticize them shyts for being unfunny and poorly made.

Those who say that don't know what a c00n is then...by my definition, if the entertainer becomes popular among whites but does not cater to them, how can he be c00ning? He cannot control their perspective. Cosby was LOVED by whites, but everybody loves to point out that he refused to c00n. Chappelle never c00ned. the second not so much....what makes tyler perry's movies poorly made? are they any more poorly made than some of these white comedies? and him being unfunny is subjective....there are literally millions of people that find his movies to be entertaining and funny....

Tyler Perry movies are unfunny, poorly written, have bad plots, bad acting, bad directing, bad pacing, bad etc.

The white equivalent to Tyler Perry movies also have the same problems and deserve the same critiques.

Nikka is you serious? Have you even seen his movies? I watched Daddy's little girls or whatever that movie was called with my nikka Idris in it and the plot was simple as fukk, the villian in that movie was cartoony as shyt, the black women are all stuck up when comes to getting with a blue collar man, and of course throw in a whole lot scripture and Jesus for no good reason.

Adam Sandler has made hundreds of millions being apart some abhorrent movies himself. I stay the fukk away from most of his comedic movies since Waterboy because most of them are really bad, especially as he has taken more control in the creative process.

They are horrible and so are Tyler Perry's shyt shows. If you like them, that is your prerogative. I used to hate on people who liked his movies, but I dont really care anymore. You like what you like.

The difference between Martin, Eddie Murphy, etc is they're actual comedians and them in drag was to exaggerate their characters. Tyler Perry isn't a comedian but a great opportunist and I commend him for it. Perry's subject matter is cliche whereas Martin's was trendsetting and daring in that era. The writing on Perry's movies is horrible.
