The reason why this theory never made sense to me is that usually these leagues suspend players to show the public/fans that they won't tolerate immoral or illegal behavior. If they keep it secret, whats the point?
Because stern marketed Mike as the greatest thing ever (especially to the kids) and as bigger than the league. Would be a massive hit to the league if he were publicly suspended.

As competitive as Jordan is I've always thought it was strange that he retires after a 3 peat. Plus the fact that he was on pace to be the all time leading scorer and I would have thought that Jordan would have wanted to break that too. But the fact that his pops was killed had a lot to do with it to and maybe he just didn't want to play anymore. But when Stern said that shyt about knowing where the bodies were that perked my interest even more. But that comment got swept right under the rug.

Exactly. Suspending a star player is only hurting the league's money. It makes no sense to suspend them if not for public image because its not doing the NBA any favors

Yeah between that and Donaghy and all the hilariously lopsided trades that have gone in the lakers favor and the 1985 draft, the fact that from 2000-2015 only the 2003 and 2004 drafts saw the worst record get the top pick, the 2008 draft seeing Chicago get the top pick with the lowest possible shot at it when Derrick Rose enters the draft, and the 2011-14 drafts saw Cleveland won in 2011, 2013, and 2014 while getting a top 4 pick in 2012 while not having the worst record any of those years, and the comment about his dream finals being lakers vs lakers, yeah there's a lot of bodies buried. Let's not forget the basketball reasons veto or the fiascos when Miami tried to sign juwan Howard or when Minnesota signed joe smith in the 90's. Mike suddenly retires on the eve of the season. Someone that competitive just walks away right before the year tips off? Someone asked him during the press conference if he would ever come back, and I think he said something along the lines of "if David stern let's me". He may very well have been joking, but where there is smoke, there's usually fire.

Not to mention vetoing the Lakers trade for CP3.

I did mention the basketball reasons veto. It was a valid move that they had the authority to make, but to suddenly make it after Dan Gilbert writes another temper tantrum letter since a big market team makes a trade to get a great player? Come on

According to Dikk Gregory, Magic & MJ got caught up in some kind of point shaving scandal .Said it was so bad, it could've destroyed the whole image of the league.Right when shyt was about to hit the fan, the NBA asked them to "retire".

He said Magic never had AIDS, it's NBA/ political propaganda. Some shyt concocted to keep you distracted from what's really going on.Magic did the Gov a favor in bringing AIDS awareness to a feverish/hysterical pitch.

Might be a reason why a man who can barely read is such an air-tight/successful businessman :sas2:

And it hurts me to say that because Magic is my All time favorite player.

And MJ's father getting murdered could be a hoax.James Jordan might be chilling on an island living a kingly life. It' would be nothing for Jordan and family to hop on a small jet and fly to his whereabouts:mjpls:.....Might be a reason why the whole retirement narrative played out like a movie.

Take it with a grain of salt, tho.....Mr.Gregory will have you thinking you're literally plugged into the matrix.
But who knew about the "point shaving scandal"? And why would suspending jordan secretly make any difference from it getting out or not?

I think the rumor of Jordan getting on the wrong side of a bookie because of his gambling addiction, and that influencing his father being killed, which caused Jordan to have extreme guilt, which influenced Jordan to take up baseball to make his dad happy seems more plausible then stern secretly suspending him. :patrice:

the thing that lends credence to the suspension angle is MJ's interview with ahmad rashad where he had sunglasses on the whole time. It was like homie was trying to deny he had a gambling problem. Just so suspicious.
