His high school career is nothing like Kareem's, nor was his college career even.

Kareem is legitimately the greatest college player ever, and it's probably between he and LeBron as greatest high school player ever.

And that's not a slight to Jordan on ANY level, it's just a testament to Cap's greatness.

I don't know who I have between Jordan/Kareem/LeBron as the GOAT, but all of these guys have incredible arguments.

Should we really value College n HS that much bro? dominating at the highest level is what I care about most n Kareem did that

I might take Jordan's peak on my team, LeBron if I were starting a team from scratch/beginning of everyone's career, and Kareem's overall career, so they all have ties to being the GOAT in a way. :yeshrug:
HS career though? :beli:

In general I would say no.

But when the debate is THIS close, you gotta use everything I guess. :yeshrug:

HS career though? :beli:
Did Jordan or Kareem do enough during either of their pro careers to absolutely separate themselves from the other? I don't think so personally, so why not use their full careers?

I do know that most Jordan supports kinda subscribe to the 6 Year Theory though, where only the peak counts. :yeshrug: Really no wrong or right answer I suppose.

Kareem is the GOAT basketball player.

Won big on every level. Didn't win a gold medal because he has principles.

The titles. The MVPs. All time scoring leader.

he was the best player in a period the NBA has tried to forget about. (the 70s)

 YET HE ONLY WON ONE RING IN THE 70S.

PLAYED THE WHOLE DECADE WITH 1 RING...

GOT 5 IN THE 80S
WHEN THE BEST PLAYER OF THE 80S JOINED THE TEAM.

MJ>>MAGIC>>KAJ

Are we talking best basketball player or best NBA player?

And why bring up busts when we're talking about KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR breh.

You'd be making sense if somebody was saying that OJ Mayo was better than Jordan because of his high school exploits.

But, hey, throw out college and high school, Kareem still has a strong argument.

Philly bouls, Trust the Process
Generally speaking a top level perimeter player should have more effect on the game than a top level of post player.
I don't know about that... It goes both ways. While big men need guards to get them the ball on offense, big men have far more of an impact on defense. A big man can single handedly anchor a defense, no perimeter player can do that. In addition to guarding their own man like everyone else, big men have the responsibility of protecting the rim against all players, guarding the PnR, etc. Then you also have to factor in that they're far more responsible for rebounding than anyone else.

KAREEM WON ONE RING IN 10 SEASONS
BEFORE MAGIC ALONG.
THOSE WERE HIS PEAK YEARS RIGHT?

ITS NOT A CLOSE ARGUMENT.
HES NO GOAT.

He is the GOAT for much more than his play.

MJ transcended the game of basketball from a guard perspective. All the eras before him were centered around a dominating big man. What KAJ was doing was nothing different from wilt or russell. But what MJ did was unprecedented and unheard of. A SG dominating the league like that, two three peats without a dominant big man. Yeah MJ is the clear GOAT
