Malcolm's relatively unknown status throughout the country largely spared him the vicious white vitriol that Dr. King faced whenever he and marchers engaged in direct action/social justice confrontation.

King said that his 1966 march in Chicago was more violent and hostile than anything he had encountered in the South.

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
MLK was tolerated by northern whites/liberal whites. When he was trying to secure basic human rights (eat and drink where you want, send your babies to any school, voting, etc) for black people in the south, he was tolerated. As soon as he started talking economics and anti war, they turned against him. Whites showed their ass towards him when he came to Chicago.

Majority of the country hated him right before his death.

King had a conceal carry permit ever since the assassination attempt in the late 50s.

also never forget that they hated us so much they bombed our houses over 50 time in Birmingham. Bombingham - Wikipedia

the gate was a hatred for anything positive and black. Anything or person that stood for black progress was a threat and was hated.

we’ve already seen conservatives quote mlk though and invoke his name; imagine if second amendment gun nuts misappropriated X and Huey Newton in the same way.

TYRONE GA!
the image we were taught of MLK in grade school is a straight G rated picture of him.

Read about the REAL MLK and you see why they paint the image they do of him. But the real is out there and we all should know better now that he was WAY more than the "I have a dream" kumbaya brotha they want us to accept.

MLK was hated more by far especially considering his travels and reach across the country.

absolutely. MLK was more in their faces, in the places they were most comfortable being devils.

cacs would rather you call them devils on tv than have you sit at their lunch counter, drink from the same fountain, sit down on the bus while they stand, or vote

most cacs around the country didn't see Malcolm as a threat to their daily lives and social order, the NOI was something they saw on TV.

I always rock with Malcolm more, but they definitely hated MLK more for being right in their grill

A lot of good points in here. Let’s also keep in mind the areas where these 2 were operating.

King working down south was probably subject to way more overt hatred. Not to make it seem like northern CACs were any better.

And at the end of the day both were killed so it really doesn’t matter that much who was more hated.

Not that it was a competition but MLK was more hated and probably feared as well. It wouldn't seem like that from a surface level observation but understand, as much as Malcoms rhetoric scared/offended white people, they were on average much more open to keeping things segregated. He was trying to change black people, not so much the entire country.

MLK on the other hand was much more radical in regards to not only having a vision for a paradigm shift but the actual PULL and platform to appeal to poor whites, which is the key. Soon as he started widening his scope toward economic freedom they had to get rid of him. Not only that they had to make him a martyr and consisently control his image and message to make people think he got killed because he was just too sweet of a person to exist in such a time...that's far from the truth.

The fact that they turned him into the easter bunny and largely leave Malcom's legacy alone lets you know what time it is.
