Whether he's dead or not, he was a true piece of shyt for what he did joe Frazier. Joe carried that until he died also. I'm sorry but that gorrila shyt towards a black is inexcusable. Everyone knew about this though and it should ALWAYS be a bigger story imo because it's such an egregious example of c00ning. Joe frazier was literally the textbook example of a hardworking black person who exemplified your grandparents who migrated, parents who came from them, and the slaves who came before them. Ali disrespected all of them as far as I'm concerned

Never set well with me how he clowned Frazier...

Cashis stood up to whites at a time when that was unheard of from an athlete...but what he did to Frazier is c00ning 101...

Should probably start calling the shyt Claying...

I'd wanna say naw and I ain't the biggest Ali fan (My money's still on 18 year old Iron Mike in the dream fight:yeshrug:). I remember reading an article once where he said he rhymed Gorilla with 'Thriller' and 'Manilla' like he would most his shyt when getting into the head of an opponent. In retrospect it wasn't a good look and he apologized for that and how much he went on about Joe Fraizer past just being a boxing peer he wanted to psyche out.

But when you out the limelight and got shyt like "Biographers" around you who get paid off of writing about your life and past, shyt gets distorted, so to be honest, I dunno. I don't even think he apologized to Frazier man to man before the disease hit him full tilt.

My dad raised me on this shyt breh. All of the civil rights leaders and especially the athletes because he knew that would lure me in most because of my love of sports. When we were kings is the greatest documentary of all time and I've seen it with my dad plenty of times. My dad is an ali apologist though:francis:
I've literally got into heated arguments with him over the frazier shyt for YEARS man. People just don't know how big of a deal this was/is

Every time I see/hear this I feel a way man... I dont want to judge a man off one of his worst moments (Unless he kills, rapes, or on some pedo shyt) I'd rather look at the whole body of work. But this always makes me cringe deep down. Its unconformable to watch.

We can all acknowledge that great things Ali did. But that Frazier treatment will not be swept under the rug.
