I thought we knew he was gay before he died
He always just let people make assumptions but he said he wouldn't confirm or deny anything because all he owes is his music. He specifically said he would never deny it because that would be a form of submission

Unless she got permission from him directly or it's in his will it wasn't for Patti to say. It was never her business to share.

I don't know the man but I find it hard to believe he said to Patti "please tell everyone I'm gay after I die". And if that's not the case her talking about it after he can't say anything was entirely selfish and self serving for her.

It's kinda gossipy and irrelevant but she wanted to share it any way.

I knew since I was a kid. I literally didn’t know he was closeted and it was a “secret” or just a “rumor” until after he died. I thought he was openly gay as a kid. Like others said, older ppl knew, and would sometimes mention it. And even in that clip, Patti didn’t “out” him since it was already known. Who in the hell in the 2010s or 2020s was holding out hope that Luther was straight? :dead:

That clip on Bravo looks to be many many years after his passing in 2005. That documentary was looking for any little controversy they could drum up to get publicity. Why? Luther was a legend either way. :dahell:
