North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Shedeur Sanders had a passer rating of 87.3. JJ McCarthy had a passer rating of 37.4. But his QBR was twice has high as Shedeur (17.9 vs 8.7). Bryce Young and Brock Purdy had higher QBR's last night with horrible passing stats.

It's a stat i've been tracking for the past 10 years and I still don't understand the formula.

That made up ESPN stat will never be relevant. QB rating is better

Google is your friend.

The main difference is that Passer Rating is an older, formula-based statistic that uses only four passing stats (completion percentage, yards per attempt, TDs per attempt, and INTs per attempt). In contrast, QBR (Total Quarterback Rating) is a more modern, comprehensive metric created by ESPN that includes passing, rushing, sacks, fumbles, and situational factors like down and distance.

I saw a lot of hype over the weekend about Shedeur Sanders and I don’t get it.

Help me understand. This kid’s big play of the game was a screen pass. And he was a mediocre 11-20 passing.

Hardly anything to be excited about. But I guess they won the game.

Kids got a long way to go.

I saw the throw to Bond.
It was a big play. I’m just not moved by 2 or 3 plays from a game.

11 of 20 is about as meh as it gets.
Yes. It’s something to build on. I just don’t think it warrants the excitement I see online over it.

And to be clear, McCarthy looks like shyt too.
And has pretty much all season.

Sounds like bullshyt. Receivers impact stats by catching bad balls and drawing PI penalties. Offensive line play. Running game and play calling.

It just seems like QBR is a way to reinforce ESPN narratives.

Passing stats over the past 20 years need to have * because of all of the rule changes.. they should just stick to the old QB rating.

No because QB rating completely discounts quarterbacks who scramble. It's an obsolete stat; there are less and less pocket QBs starting in the league than ever before.
