He put himself in this position. Should've not cheated and once he did he should've moved on. He let his emotions get him arrested.

but she’s also contributing to the mass incarceration of black males in this country. She held all the cards in that situation. Getting him locked up was a cop out.

No it wasn't. He put his kids and ex wife in danger. He wouldn't be in the situation if he didn't cheat or fire a gun around his family and argue.
. Expecting people not to be held accountable is stupid. Would you be saying that if a stray he fired hit his kids? 
It was a wrap as soon as the gun went off. Add to that he's been drinking, emotional, and children in the vicinity.... 
This may be a harsh lesson, but this can't be the way you want to show off strength.
Hopefully he'll learn that restraint is crucial when dealing with an ex.

Domestic shyt always escalates. He could potentially still kill someone with a knife, car, poisoning...his bare hands, oh and he can still get an illegal gun.
Anyway, they both need to find a way to co-parent for the sake of the children. They loved each other at one point...grow up and get along for the kids.

Made death threats. Showed up to the place with a loaded gun, drunk and in front of the kids. Let the loaded gun fire.
What do you mean should she have got him arrested?
We're not talking about him showing up and smashing a few flower pots in a drunken stupor. His actions could have killed someone and, if it isn't nipped in the bud, will probably escalate to that point.
