Lyrically yes. I remember I was with the homie when he copped the tape. We rode around the city bumpin it. I dug it, but my dude ejected the tape and threw it out the window. lol He couldn't rock with most of the beats.

My nikka its like 3-4 more of these type of songs floating around - not even gonna get into the freestyles :wow:. If i could remember the names i'd link em
I used to hear this shyt on the wake up show in 1994 How the fukk did ras drop in 1996?! :mindblown:

That's what really fukked this album up to folks like me. Label politics, sample clearance, and bullshyt delayed this album for 2 years.
My nikka i had the Won't Catch Me Runnin/Remain Anonymous promo single in 94 from Yo Mama's Cafe near Rockridge (og town nikkas know). Of course won't catch me runnin ain't on the album :snoop:

Favorite song of all time Mobb Deep's "Hit it From the Back" :shaq:

Own a 3 story house, drive a 4 door ac :win:

My favorite song on the album is probably The Evil That Men Do
ditto
i never really liked this album...yeah he spit lyrically but this shyt was a boring album...and im the type of person who prefers lyrics over beats but that nikka was just so off beat so much i had to stop listening to it...same shyt i get when i listen to chino xl...yeah they can spit but after a while shyt is all off beat i lose interest :yeshrug:

I think his off beat cadence and flow is what makes the album genius
Repped for reminding me that Death Certificate had a similar impact on me when I was 11.
I wonder what album is having that sort of impact in 2014? Migos :mjlol:
True story, one of my patients was this 14 year old kid who told me he wanted to be a rapper. His "hero" was Rich Homie Quan :beli:
Great album. Classic without a doubt but it's not flawless. It had a few tracks I didn't feel, but the majority was just :wow:
What tracks though?
Only thing is the skits at the end of the songs not allowing me to just play the album straight through

I love the skits, esp the skit after Evil that men do. I love that beat in the background

Was just speakin' about this album like an hour ago!

Flawless? Definitely not. But not many albums have been. But this album was incredible, and a personal classic. The production was a little inconsistent, and I think that's what held this back from the talks of greatness back then. I remember reading the reviews, and they all had issues with Bird's beats on there. But this was a great album, and one that mad people slept on.

What tracks though?

Reelishymn, Miami Life and the OG Soul On Ice (the Diamond D beat>>>>)

Reelishymn grew on me but I'm still :patrice: on Miami Life, it's not bad by any mean but it's my least favorite track on the album.

Ordo Abchao, The Evil That Men Do, Anything Goes >>>> :wow:

No, you said there were tracks you didn't feel. I'm asking you which tracks are you referring to?

That's what I replied to breh :dwillhuh: I used to not feel Reelishymn but it grew up on me. I still dislike Soul On Ice (cause the Diamond D version is just >>>>) and Miami Life.

The rest I liked with the three tracks mentionned as my favs :yeshrug:

i refuse to conform
nikkaz really dont give a fukk how an album actually sounds... Rasassination >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

soul on ice was dope homie
I wouldn't say it's the most lyrical. I think Common's resurrection is just as lyrical, maybe even more lyrical, than Soul On Ice.

i agree i could think of at least of a couple albums that are better then that shyt lyrically.

its 100% flawed to everybody who heard the original and unreleased tracks on the Wake Up Show before he dropped the album. It's an eternal disappointment
