I know brehs will say Ether or Hit 'Em Up or whatever but the brilliance of Swagger Jacker was in it's simplicity

instead of coming up witty punchlines & bars, Cam just let Jay-Z's biting speak for itself. the fact it's nearly 8 minutes long and half of it is just Jay biting Biggie says a lot without saying a lot. Cam only interjects on some "really nikka?" :stopitslime: type shyt, which is what most of the audience who will be listening to this will be feeling anyway with Jay's blatant & incessant biting :pachaha:

shyt has to be the most unique & effective diss track of all time

No. It did nothing but showcase a point that Jay Z fans already knew and didn't care. Jay's detractors alrady knew and it was already pointed out by Nas in "Ether". Who really needed an 8 minute song that basically served as a bibliography for what was already obvious: Jay Z bit a lot of Biggie rhymes.

if there's anything preventing that tai bo ho3s status from being top 3/top 5 even, apart from his obvious disgusting L to Nas, it's his shameless biting of BIG. Embarrassingly pathetic.

It definitely punched a hole pause in the “just paying homage” idea. Hearing all of it in a row was pretty fukkin bad.
Yeah facts this lowkey why Jay never got over the Cam beef not “you gotta love it”..I can imagine Jay ego when he heard this nikka probly wanted to put cheese on cam head and lowkey cam did get shot in DC after this and said they threw the diamond up before they shot him..lot of that pushed under the rug for whatever reason including this diss no mentions but it was hot when it dropped

This really made me examine Jay in a different light. The biting was blatant even in stuff that wasn’t included in swagger Jacker. I caught entire stanzas he bit from Bun B:

Now once upon a time not too long ago
A nikka like myself had to strong-arm a ho
This is not a ho in the sense of having a p*ssy
But a p*ssy having no goddamn sense try and push me

UGK-Touched/ Jay-99 Problems

Like, I don't carry around banana clips like groceries
With a presence that make em don't wanna get em close to me
Talk about we suppose to be brothers
Don't make me laugh, motherfukka you chose to be
On the side opposin me, no matter what culture you be
From, Young Hova (Bun & C) light your ass up exposively

UGK-That’s Why I Carry/Memphis Bleek-Murda Murda

Like bro…once we get past the 2 bar mark, that “paying homage” alibi ain’t gone fly. An entire fourth of your 16 bars ain’t yours. That’s just flagrant.

In sports it's OK to get compared to another athlete and some even "steal" moves...

In musicianship it's OK to get compared to another musician based on skills and some even steal styles and riffs...

In literature it's OK to get compared to other writers and some steal writing styles, topics and genres...

In Art it OK to get compared to other artists and some steal styles, themes, symbols, color usage and even lines....

But in Rap/HipHop this is where the line is drawn?

I'm not a fan of Jay-Z at all in the sense of rap. He has a catalogue and has quotable. I just not a fan of NY rap outside BIG and Busta...Big L cool tho.

When I was younger I admittedly stopped listen to Jay because I thought he was biting, however at my grown age I feel Jay wasn't and its a bit asinine to dismiss his artistry because he uses another MC's lyrics or bars or stanza or verse.

Why does Rap get the white gloves but the other arts dont?

Breh. It would be one thing if he took one or two bars and flipped them. But this is egregious. :dead:

And Jay became a billionaire mostly off of rap, and also is generally considered a GOAT level rapper. Clearly it hasn’t affected him THAT much.
