Was the Chiefs season pretty much pointless?

So we just going to ignore the two big injuries on their defensive line before they started losing? Hali was never the same and neither was Houston. Those two were the centerpiece of that defense along with Poe. Once they couldn't get pressure on the QBs like they had been earlier in the season then it exposed holes in the rest of the defense. Even in the Chargers game they went down they held the Chargers offense mostly in check. It wasn't until those injuries they started getting shredded.

And as a Chiefs fan it's sad to say but we've grown to accept playoff failure. After going 13-3 twice and losing in the first playoff game we know regular season only means so much so a large majority of us know not to get our hopes too high. Even with that said ANY fanbase is going to be shell shocked over blowing a 28 point second half lead.
I honestly can't WAIT for the Jets to play these dudes next year.

All seasons are pointless if you don't win it all because a good season doesn't predict great season next year. Too much variation from year to year

I disagree. Let's break it down for the losers this weekend.

Eagles: not a disappointment. They found out they got a qb and nobody expected them to go far let alone beat the Saints. They are excited for next year.

Packers: barely made the playoffs. They played hard. No shame there

Bengals: season was full of ineptitude. People expected them to beat the chargers but nobody is really surprised they lost

Chiefs: were lauded as the best team in the league at points in the season. People thought they were going to make noise in the playoffs with that defense. They had the easiest draw, a horrible Colts team with no rb. They were winning the game handily and dropped a 28 point lead!! Losing in that fashion means their whole season was a fraud and pointless.

They're going to have a tough time keeping everyone together while trying to improve. At least they have Charles and Bowe locked up...although I can see Bowe getting dealt

Injuries are part of the game. Chiefs stayed relatively healthy this season...at least in the 1st half of the season. That said, yall were taking advantage of poor teams, man. 2nd and 3rd string QBs. Once yall started facing good teams it was a wrap. Future is bright, though.

Injuries do happen and teams are rarely shyt on when they do happen. Hell they had like eight injuries in the playoff game itself. I'm not looking for sympathy but just think it's crazy to call them frauds without examining everything going on around when they started losing games. My whole point is who knows how they would've looked going up against those teams they lost against with a healthy D-line which is the centerpiece of the defense. You take away any teams pass rush and their D will suddenly look a whole lot less formidable. Why single the Chiefs out for losing? It was overall a success of a season.

Well, it wasn't pointless. It's all about creating jobs. Jobs for players, coaches, staff, stadium workers, parking lot attendants, web designers, fan clothing retailers, etc. NFL is a huge money machine. Cities want to have an NFL team if they could get an owner, a stadium and financing to bring it in. It brings in revenue and income to the local city. They could have come in last place. They made mistakes. Next season, they can try to fix it. Other teams have done worse. You could shuffle around players, pick up some new players or coaching/staff personnel. But, it really doesn't matter as long as you have a team and the owner and league are making money. It's all one huge facade and Americans are buying into it!

Side note, if you are a fan of a particular Chiefs player or players, then this season was worth it. Regular season stats and numbers are meaningful. That's my two cents.
