Was the drill instructor too harsh or is he just too slow?

There's a limit. I forgot why but one of the Drill's challenged me to a fight. Not no training event but at the barracks at night. Maybe he was bullshytting but I thought that I was gonna fight him.

Same drill said some shyt that would've been way too far for me he asked one dude if he knew a Ms. Delaney. and when the guy said That's my mother Drill Sergeant The Drill said I just got off the phone with her we had phone sex she gave great head.

I was right there and I physically blanched the dude said It's just words.

He was kicked out a week later turns out he was going through a Heroin withdrawl. I never understood that again most people think that you go directly to basic training in reality you spend at least a couple weeks in limbo as your paperwork gets processed we didn't even do any PT we marched to the chow hall and stayed in the barracks till we went to the actual Boot Camp. Dude had to have been at Benning for almost two months by then.
One of my drills was a cokehead.. I know because I was a cokehead before I joined... this mf nose was always clogged and for some reason he never seemed to sleep. He would be the last one giving us drills at night and the first one ringing our ears the next morning... one day while we were close to graduating he was bragging to me about tickets he had to a Cameo concert... I was like yea you gone on that shyt fa sho :childplease:

I worked with a bunch of cats especially when I was in TRADOC who were drills that were prescribed things like adderall. And they were always the most active. Not saying if he is or isn’t a coke head but if he were to snort adderall or the generic version wouldn’t that behavior be somewhat similar?

Did yáll call it Front Back Go's?

When I got to AIT they still made us do it but it was more of a joke they would say On your Belly, On your Back, On your Feet Then they would clap their hands. If they took you to the sand pits you would be filthy by the time you were done. Of course they would say it extremely fast and they would mix it up to fukk you up.
They made us curl fukkin' telephone poles and dig graves for sand fleas in them pits.

One night, we had to low-crawl a full mile through some goddamned swampland then run 3 miles 'cause some a$$hole fell out of a hump.

I watched this whole thing and didn't understand one word the DI was saying. How they know what to do? :dahell: I know I would've been doing hella pushups in there just for looking confused
On your backs right now.

Front-leaning rest right now.

I forget what the starting position for jumping jacks was, but that was there, too.

The rest of the cats were being guided through a gear inspection.

It's possible. He wasn't mean or abusive, at least not to us, but I just remember those two characteristics.. One night I had guard duty and he was in his office at 1am.. then waking us up at 4am... shyt like that plus like I said he always sounded like he had a sinus issue...

I know exactly what you are talking about. ECA (Ephedrine/Caffeine/Aspirin) is how I made it through that duty and the same thing when I served as a first sergeant. You definitely need something especially if you have a caffeine tolerance.

I wanted to be a drill sergeant because I thought it was the coolest job in the world. Getting paid to yell at mfs all day plus stay in shape keeping them in shape.

My question is are there rules in place that prohibit drills from banging recruits.. I was sent to fort Lee after basic for my AIT... THE AMOUNT OF WOMEN RECRUITS WERE OFF THE CHARTS.. every Monday bus loads of 18 to 20 year old women were delivered. BUS LOADS. All stressed out and horny. If I was knocking them down I know for a fact the DIs had to be too :whew:

It’s not worth it but yes I’ve seen and known of drills who did this. We had a strict no fraternization directive and I worked with a bunch of swinging legs so I rarely had women unless they were coming out of Captains Career course or Warrant Officer Advanced course. The initial entry Soldiers were literally off limits in our footprint to anyone but their battery chain of command. We used to do training after training after training and every so often a drill would get hemmed up especially over on the air defense side of the house.

Never joined the army.

From the outside looking in, i think I wouldn't give a fukk about the yelling and insults. I would just do what i have to do and do my best to follow instructions. The one thing that would fukk me up is the feeling that if i fukk up, other people might get punished. I guess it's like that on the battlefield as well...

Pretty much at first(boot camp setting) its break you down and build you up but after its to get you used to how it is on the battlefield the being able to function and work under extreme stress
