Was the Inception of Party Chat Good or Bad for Online Gaming?

Just ran across this video today



And I kind of agree with it. And since Party Chat has come in to play, it's as if devs care less and less about in game voice chat among your teammates. Some games release without even the option to talk to your teammates by default... which is kind of ridiculous, but it is what it is.

I miss some good ol fashion shyt talking every now and then

Good and bad.

It was good for the fukkery and the feel of a social space but it was a cesspool for overtly racist cavemen and children.

You'd get called a ****** before you even started playing.

Ultimately good, albeit i rarely use it. I don't play many, if any, team based games like that. I'd rather whip ass for dolo.

Also if I'm not playing with any friends I wanna communicate with my teammates on how to attack but can't cause everyone is in party chat

I miss talking shyt to the opps in lobbies. I miss hearing the cries of failure after you kill someone. The cacs dropping nikkas was annoying but i do enjoy talking shyt...

For nostalgia purposes, my boy and I started talking shyt to this party after Destiny match. After they took some Ls and got some messages telling them how mad they were

They sent us a Party Invite

Started off good

Got bad because no one in game was talking and nikkas be in party chats listening to each other breath on some keep me company shyt

Leveled off because people accepted it and there are more people in game talking now.

It was a very bad idea in the long run.

There are people on Xbox live that I consider great friends, knowing each other for 8+ years. We only met because people talked in the lobbies of games.

I remember me and my squad hearing all of the racist shyt thrown at us...and we'd be beasts so it was like we were the Civil Rights movement mowing throw those bigots...shyt was some of the most fulfilling moments destroying ignorant people online, throwing shyt back at them and meeting new people.

Also, the feeling of being the last man left in a Search and Destroy match in Call of Duty or Gears of War and knowing that all of your boys are talking shyt to the other team that "MY MAN IS GOING TO CLUTCH IT!" and you come through body 3 people and get the objective for the win...

Party chat is best feature on ps4 some ppl dont know how to use it example when you in a squad death in bf no one has mics on but if you create a party and invite ya team 9/10 times they're Gonna join makes online gaming much better


Gta and cod still have live lobbys esp search cause you can talk to the other team. Battlefield needs to open up the chat rooms you gotta be on ya squad to hear you can even talk to whole team

The pros far outweigh the cons because all the idiots who are singing, playing music and telling he how good my mum sucks dikk and the like can be muted with relative ease, so I'm good with that.

The amount of friends I've made randomly through playing games like COD and Rockband and continue to play with to this day is invaluable. Plus the amount of times me and my mates got into verbal wars with other idiots, saw, participated and laughed at the whole 'girl gamer' phenomenon whenever a girl starts to talk online coupled with some hilariously scary encounters of kids getting beat/cursed out over XBL from parents is priceless.

It's good, I can live without it but when it works right, it's entertaining.
