Was there anything more soul crushing than facing Jonathan Ogden?

Madden was doing that in the 80s with those players.

Muñoz was like the first superstar lineman.
Henceforth why i mentioned Madden. But cats ain't no about Munoz especially playing for the Bengals the way they knew about Boselli Jones Ogden Pace etc. though he was as dominant as all of them at his best.

Untrue

They made two Super Bowls in the 80s and the players that were mentioned in this thread were compared to Muñoz. Boseli went to USC. :heh:

From 1990
Anthony would get 15 to 20 of what we call 'pancakes' in a game. That's when you drive the guy off his feet, and he winds up on his butt. Now, most of the ends are going 280. So Anthony might get only five or six pancakes a game. But I don't see where he's lost anything.

And The Hogs were iconic.

The world didn’t start when you first realized you were in it. These Coli threads tend to think that, unfortunately.

St. Albans' own. :wow:

I still remember how we were thisclose to taking Lawrence Phillips (:rip:) with that #4 pick that year. Oz the Gawd talked Modell out of it; rest is history.
Jonathan Ogden with the 4th pick
Ray Lewis with the 26th pick.

That 1996 1st round by Baltimore might be the best ever. Taking two hall of famers?
Lord....

When I was a kid, the NFC games with the Redskins always had all those shots of the fans dressed up in Hog gear and shyt. They were a celebrity line.

I'm nearly 40 years old bruh and didn't need you to tell me that Munoz went to two Super Bowls. But he still isn't better known than either Orlando Pace (i'd venture to say Pace was as famous as him coming out of Ohio State) or Ogden. Just cause a player is compared to a former great one means the older player is better known? Especially two who played on one of the greatest offensive teams EVER and another who played on one of the greatest defensive teams EVER.

Go back and read my posts. I didn’t say anyone was better known than the other. I said Anthony Muñoz and The Hogs were the first to bring major attention to Oline play. And contrary to what you believe, Muñoz was arguably the first superstar left tackle, who all the guys you named were compared too when they entered the league.

And i said that Madden made linemen mainstream in the 90's to the point that you knew many by name which he did.
