That's partly a camera perspective illusion, he's admitted he was 6-4 and 3/4 in real life, also the 1992 Olympics measured him at 6-4 and 5/8ths without shoes.

So technically he's not 6-4 nor 6-6, but just under 6-5 in real life.

I have no idea how tall the Rock is in real life, but Wrestlers also overbill their heights and weights to be larger than life as well
Case in point Andre the Giant.

lol true but it was oddly refreshing to talk sports in TSC and Wilt vs Shaq was probably one of the last debates id expect to see in the off-chance sports were discussed.

and i dont think anyone here is even throwing shade at or hating on shaq...and contrary to popular happenings around here..i dont think people are arguing with RG just to argue. theres clearly a legit argument for wilt, at least, playing even with shaq.

the biggest advantage for wilt against prime shaq is speed and endurance. wilt played over 40 minutes a game average for his career and ran like a gazelle. that, in combo with post battles, would wear shaq down
Wear down a guy that would foul him out of the game in record time? He's gonna run over Shaq? There is no you you can actually believe that..

Shaq is the 4x World Champion and the consistent MVP Finals MVP..not Wilt. He was great year around but Russel had his number when it was money time. And Russel would of NEVER, EVER, EVER ran roughshed over Shaq. That's fukking insane. He would slammed on every single possession...the Celtics wouldn't even be who they are in history had they dealt with the 2000 era Shaq.

Wilt has just as much chance of fouling out as Shaq would in this hypothetical. Not hating on Shaq at all..but you cant act like Shaq didnt get into foul trouble. A lot of it was due to him being so big and strong but the fact remains.

I never said run over. Wilt was faster and had more endurance. You referenced Lakers Shaq..Magic Shaq was quicker (Lakers Shaq better all around player)...A fast paced offense with Wilt running the floor would be tricky for Lakers Shaq. Youre taking what Im saying too far. Im not saying Wilt would dominate Shaq at all..just that both would get theirs and that Wilt would be one of his toughest matchups. And FWIW..The Celtics had Wilts number..Russell was the face of the team. Wilt put up like 25/25 on him throughout his career or some crazy shyt.

Well the refs fell for a lot of flops for those key Shaq fouls and sometimes he came in too hard and it led to offensive fouls. Wilt was faster but that shyt wouldn't fly with Shaq in the middle. I just see no way how anyone can think that.

Agree :manny: Not all the time, but most of the time. Especially in the playoffs.

Itd ultimately depend on the teams around them to be honest. Wilt was fast and strong and wouldve been tough..just like Shaq was abnormally agile for his size and an overwhelming brute in the post. Theres just not many players as physically unique as either of them and anyone would be hard-pressed to find a tougher matchup for Shaq at the 5 throughout history. My top 2 trouble makers would be Wilt and Hakeem. I just thought you were underselling Wilt.

One of the many great quotes Wilt had was regarding MJ (paraphrasing): "They made rules to make me less dominant and they made rules to make MJ more dominant" lol. Wilt also said that MJ was a transcendent talent that would be a star in any era but it goes to show how they had to change the game for Wilt in ways that flopping and the hacking strategies came into play to slow down Shaq. They were both far too dominant physically.

Y'all in here trying to compare Wilt and Shaq? :dahell:

Shaq is that dude, but prime Hakeem is always better. Dude made everyone look ridiculous, including Shaq on the grandest stage of them all. Even Shaq bows down to Hakeem.

Shaq was still young then. Hakeem got him but didnt tarnish Shaqs legacy. He embarassed the fukk out of David Robinson though. I cant rate Robinson like he's probably supposed to be because of what Hakeem did to him. That shyt was vulgar

arnold the gawd testifies wilt was the strongest of all time

he was 7'1 260-300 during his career..benched 500 and killed a mountain lion with his bare hands. shaq woulda got points obviously but wilt would have easily been the toughest matchup possible for shaq :coffee:

Teams kept trying to sign Wilt until 1990 for a reason.
