When Morey actually put a team around Yao, we advanced and was a team to be reckoned wiht. I always say we wouldve beatened the lakers if Kobe didnt take Yao out that series.

Props to Kobe. He did what he had to do.

Yao biggest tradegy was JVG and Carrol Dawson. JVG refused to tank that year Yao and TMac went down and then he refused to reform his rostter to contemporary NBA standards. He brought all these old has ben nigguhs around Yao(and TMac) named Juwan Howard, Jon Barry, David Wesley, Ryan Bowens, wouldnt play Steve Francis,.

Just so skillful. Man i wished Carroll Dawson wouldve jumped on that Kobe trade when he was unhappy in the2006 or 2007 season. COuldve traded TMax(out) straight up.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
what about against the other 28 teams?

David Robinson used to own Hakeem in his regular season matches but do we remember those?

Yao was better, and posted better numbers overall.

Also, David vs Hakeem was a lot closer than Yao vs Dwight-

Yao
56%
23.6ppg
10.4rpg
2.1bpg

Dwight
45%
12.2ppg
9.8rpg
1.7bpg

This clown turned into Erik Dampier against Yao :russ:

Probably, as a center that is your focal point on offense and play in the post. I don't really see anyone else after him (not including Shaq since he was on the decline, nor Dwight who as someone said is a glorified Kevin Willis without the shot).

Maybe if Bynum comes back healthy and motivated he can be that guy.

Stupid argument, Dwight got shut down in the finals against primarily Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom :russ:, Bynum only played 19mpg.

Had those Rockets been playing in the East while they had Tmac and Yao, they'd make it to the finals too.

Was he the last great true center? Now we have soft unskilled centers like dwight. :sadcam:

Yeah pretty much.

If :noah: continues to play like he has this season and ups his PPG to around 15-16 while maintaining everything else he's doing at the level he's playing, he can knock on the door to being GREAT for a few seasons. Then again, he's 28 and probably is as good as he's going to get :manny:

Yao was clearly a lot more skilled offensively than Dwight Howard, but Dwight was a more effective player out there. :yeshrug: But that's more about the level of competition they play against as opposed to Dwight being a beast. Now on a head-to-head matchup, there wasn't shyt Dwight could do with Yao.

And if Dwight Howard isn't/wasn't a great center, then Joakim Noah definitely isn't and isn't going to be.

I'm cooling off on my criticism of Dwight since the AS break. As long as the effort is there, he should be good. He'll be back to 20/15 form next season and he won't be as pussified as he was to start the season.

He's still not going to anchor an offense purely on the low post but he's still a force inside and a good center when he wants to be.

@Malta probably thinks I'm soft now. Winning does that. :russ:

it Rockets were losing to the champs each year during the Yao Ming era :yeshrug:

they couldn't even take care of the jazz after being up 2-0
