this feels too contrived...the way the game is, i don't see space for her to do what doja did/does. thing about doja is it was organic and doja built her profile amongst white people (she's a master at online/social media shyt - even with her being a clown now), while making music that was "black"...doja had a fanbase before she blew, like cardi, and on the singing side, sza. seems for girlies to really blow, they have to have an organic fanbase, latto never built one, people are indifferent to her, and if a crazed barb, hate her lol

Lil Baby - Nowhere near finished, would take a scandal or jail. Apparently under investigation for RICO so we'll see.

Nicki Minaj - Rabid fanbase but is otherwise done. Has to ride coattails

Gunna - Done unless he goes pop

Megan the Stallion - Has a chance, took a monumental W in court and is laying low

Kodak - Done once he goes back to jail

The real question is who is on the rise? A lot of small rappers get a lot of real high praise on social media but don't do real numbers. Guys like luh tyler, seddy hendrinx, etc.

i'm always in for stuff from kendrick, schoolboy - who needs to redeem himself, dom kennedy, nas, future, etc....none of these are new acts tho

doubt they drop this year, but vince, denzel, jid, joey badass, smino all put out projects i loved last year so whenever they drop again, i'll be there

but mainstream? i'm indifferent to a lot of the "new top acts".

The real question is who is on the rise? A lot of small rappers get a lot of real high praise on social media but don't do real numbers. Guys like luh tyler, seddy hendrinx, etc.

this is just the game for music right now and the foreseeable future, i don't think we'll have many full blown, "everyone tapped in" type stars. it's too easy to curate an ecosystem of music that focuses specifically on only what you like. everything is fragmented
