This trend in game analysis really ruins game commentary IMO. In the NBA Hubie Brown does this shyt constantly too, a speech after every play of the driest most mundane observations possible. When it comes to in-game commentary, the best guys know how to build on the drama of the game, and add something to that. Marv Albert is one of the GOATs at it. I dont care either way about him...but this isnt even really about mayock. The writer is using mayock as an example of the fact and why he hates ex nfl guys as commentators. Saying they essentially point out obvious things.

He's mad because they're taking jobs boring journalists typically have. Thats the source of the anger in this article.

What?? When have journalists and scribes ever been the "analysts" in the booth? I was born in '84, can remember football from probably 93 on and the analysts have always been former players and/or coaches.

I would say Thursday Night Football suffers more from the horrible games and terrible presentation than Mayock's commentary. I don't know who chooses the games on TNF before the season but that dude needs to get fired. No one wants to see the fukking Bengals play the Dolphins. Or remember the game of the year, Cleveland vs. Buffalo.

Plus NFL Network got that basura presentation. They need to just copy CBS or NBC because IMO they're the only ones doing football right.

Mayock calls a game for people who want an in depth break down of the play, not for the fans who are more focused on the grill and drinks than the game.
