I'm not going to even pretend like I know the exact rule. But if they ruled on the field that it was incomplete do you think there was enough video evidence that clearly showed it was a clean catch. Or is it debatable? Also do you really thinkable had FULL CONTROL? Looks like he lost the handle.

If a player has full control of the ball and it hits the ground after the player has controlled it, isn't that still a catch?

no, the rule is that they must maintain control through the whole act of the catch (through the fall). so if it hits the ground and moves/bobbles then it is an incomplete pass. this happens every single week in the NFL which makes me wonder how many of these posters even watch football weekly or just jumped on the Cam bandwagon and are acting like children

there is a gif and pics in this thread proving the ball hit the ground and moved, yet people refuse to act like it never happened

This. Manning looked like was made of Legos out there and with such a close game 1 successful drive from Cam woulda easily put it to bed. That whole game was fishy and everyone knows it. Only redeeming quality was Bruno Mars and Beyoncé.

Damn near every playoff game leading up to the SB was light years ahead of this. shyt, even the Panthers first round bye was more exciting

He pulled the ball in...but did he actually secure it

Now I'm not asking you to change your mind on whether you think it's a catch but I am asking you to suspend your certitude that it was DEFINITELY a catch--can you now concede that it's at least defensible for the refs to think the ball hit the ground? That Cotchery didn't fully maintain control? That in real time a reasonable person could think the pass was incomplete? That further review did not provide incontrovertible video evidence that Cotchery definitely caught this cleanly?
