but doggystyle was so great and his cameos on chronic that he gets a pass forever just off the strength of those 2 albums and time periods

Snoop is one of the pioneer rappers to transcend rap into becoming a force in general pop culture. shyt, 80 year old white ladies knew who the fukk snoop was, plus like others said, he had two dope records on No Limit (Top Dogg & Tha Last Meal), another classic R&G, and Blue Carpet Treatment & Paid Tha Cost were above average as well with some classic songs. He had a low ceiling lyrically, but even without the consistent classic material, dude is a tier A star
