OR its a show about a dispicable man trying to get some humanity out of his legacies and just sees himself in the mirror. A MAN. I feel degraded by those of you who are trying the push the behaviors of the character Luscious onto the rest of black men. And YES, you are doing that. I am sure there is a gay agenda, just like there is/was a black agenda. If you want rights or a voice, you shove it down people's throats. There were white people sitting at home in the 60s and 70s saying the same thing about black people. "Why are they pushing these ******s onto us?" Its a show. If you believe it represents the black race and not a segment or even a specific person, you need to look in the mirror as to how you are portraying a race of people in your own mind.Lucious Lyons and his sons are no different than the Sopranos or Housewives of Beverly Hills or the Kardashians. They don't represent anyone but themselves. If you are worried about them representing black people to whites, then you are worried about the stupidity of whites who happen to think of that. If you are worried about it affecting your sons or young men in the community, then we have failed. Its a TV show.

It's just a show huh. Hmph.
When it's reaching the minds and permeating the minds and influencing the minds of millions MY people, it's more than "just a show".

Lee Daniels is basically a white supremacist. He's one of the very few black major media figures who I can't support. His movies Precious and Monster's Ball were vile movies that were on Birth of A Nation levels of propaganda and stereotypes. Plus his ridiculous comments he's made about black women, black men, and even gay black people is enough for me to not support him in any way.

But he is putting black actors to work...who else is?

The white media is forced to talk about a black show almost nonstop because the ratings for the show are through the roof...who else is doing this?

I personally can't watch the show...to many stereotypes and other shyt...but I can't just outright hate on a show that got all these cacfrican execs upset cause it is crushing whatever the all white show that is on nbc that hasn't had one black character on it in 3 years week after week after week...

Why can't yall understand or grasp that it's not simply a matter of "his sexual preference", but instead the ramifications of it being projected across the masses of our community, it's the fact this has been being pushed on us in droves for the past 15 years or so, it's the fact that WE'RE the ONLY race having it shoved down our throats at the RATE it's happening.

That's just your Blackness wanting to be proud of/take pride in any type of Black achievement. It's hard to fault you because you mean well, but at the same time you HAVE to mind what you support "Just because it's Black and hires Black ppl". Cons outweigh Pros more often than not, and I think this might be one of those cases.

yup I can actually sit and watch his two comedy sitcoms and not feel like I`m watching some slavery type stuff. It`s low budget yea but nothing negative in them. My Gripe with Tyler perry is he sucks at writing, but he doesn't really put any agenda stuff in his work, more so just religious messages that some feel are un needed. I know in the past he would be on that Evil Darkskin character steeze, but at least he didnt have any white saviors. And Tyler Perry is doing major work economically in Atlanta. But this Lee Daniels guy is on some other stuff.

I wish Tyler perry would step back and just fund up and coming directors/writers and just be on some "Tyler Perry presents:" steeze, where it gives up and coming film makers a chance to do something, and Tyler can still get his glory and a cut of the profits.

I am banking on some black actors and writers being able to spring board their careers off of this show because the ratings are so high they will be able to get work just because "he was a writer for Empire that show was number one on TV for X amount of weeks"...I am banking on at least one of these people not being a self hating c00n...

I am banking on the white execs of cacbc or cacbs to just get some random black guy they know to do a black show because fox is killing it with their black show and maybe...just maybe...this black guy that they get won't be a self hatin c00n...
