they have one. black-ish, but none of yall watch it.

the wire and empire, however, seem to be a community favorite, as well as love and hiphop, and those particular shows are REAL people. thats the sad part.

I have no problems with Lee Daniels method, sometimes people need to see a mirror in order to fix themselves. is he extreme sometimes? sure, but most of it is mild and some even right. Not too far from The boondocks, but McGruder always had a message at the end, but that's because its a cartoon, so it's not a continuous story/chapter, like real shows.

as for his sexuality, this homophobia in the black community, and other mentalities, is why I consider myself a lone wolf. I can't fly with a pack of dummies. I have no problems with gays on tv. People saying this is being jammed down black peoples throat, have clearly never seen the 100 white shows with homosexuals in it, or broke back mountain winning awards, yet its us and only us? comedic stupidity and ignorance. All I can do is smh. Socially too much of the community are about as backwards as redneck racist hicks in swamps of Mississippi, then I remember where the majority of the community lie.....in the swamps along with them. *sigh*

same folks still believe in voodoo, witch doctors, Illuminati this and that, jesus and other stupid imaginary fantasy shyt with no proof or bases. thus the term 'backwards'.

There are as many good people on the show, as ratchet, but alas we focus on the negative and hate on a perfectly successful black tv series. Meh, you can't make everyone happy.

Seen the first episode at a relative's crib but wasn't too impressed. Hustle and Flow part deux. Who cares about Lee Daniels and his homosexual themes. Doubt it makes hetero adult men want to slob knob. The show has adult themes and not suitable for kids 12 and under anyway. Normally spend time reading and traveling for entertainment instead of TV watching.

Empire is a show created by a vile black man who hates straight black men, all black women, and constantly panders to the social appetite of white america
Empire is a show that has absolutely NOTHING but black stereotypes on it...every character is an over the top to hip to hop to street version of what white america thinks black people are and act like and talk like and are motivated by...the writing in this show is some of the worst in television...the acting is bad enough to convince somebody this is actually an extended version of a saturday night live skit and not a real tv "drama"

But...


Empire is a show created by a black man...Empire is a show with a predominately black cast...Empire ratings are outright DESTORYING all of these other white shows...Empire is putting A TON of black actors and actresses to work and is going to launch the careers of several black people in hollywood in front of and behind the scenes...Empire is going to make the white execs start to make black shows created by black people for black people if for no other reason that now a black man is getting a ton of pub and applause for creating a show and aint no way a white exec in hollywood going to let a black man create something and not come behind him and create the same thing to make the same money and get the same fame the black man is getting...

So what I did was...say "no way I am supporting this caricature driven horribly written piece of shyt show, I'm not watching this shyt at all"

Then I turned right around and told all the black people in my personal life who weren't watching the show "Man have you seen Empire shyt is fire son you need to be watching this shyt ASAP"....

Cleared my conscious by not watching it while making sure more black people tune in to boost them ratings...

Spend 2 minutes reading a synopsis about the current weeks episode just so i can know what is going on when the people i told to watch the show bring it up...

Yeah I know it's shytty but what choice do I have...I'm a black man it's my job to somehow support black shows no matter how bad they are IF another black man had the biggest hand in it's creation...

I feel very similarly to you.

It's very important this c00n-centric, gay agenda pushing, negative stereotypical show isn't our ceiling though.

We need black crime dramas, black super heroes, black comic books, black romance movies, black everything. We need to have our hands dipped in every genre, and as independently as possible. We can't just settle for their scraps.
