Honestly i feel like that at the moment playing titanfall, i feel like I'm forcing myself to enjoy it at times.

I've seriously considered migrating to PC gaming. But many of the popular games don't do it for me. It would be nice if they brought back twitch-based shooters (i.e.: Unreal Tournament) and tactical shooters (i.e.: Swat 4)



Strongly disagree here.

Vanquish was a glorified NES game with little replay value. Bayonetta was great but again lacking replay value. Most action games suffer from that problem in that once you beat them there's no real incentive to play through it again. I don't give a shyt about playing through Vigrid 50 times just to get a platinum trophy. I play a game for fun factor not for artificial awards to show off to my friends.

I liked Nintendo as a kid. Since then I've grown more intelligent and mature. I can't sit through a Mario game. I need something more sophisticated and involved. Only way I could enjoy 'Super Mario 3D World' is if I were playing with my big breasted female friends and used the game as 'bonding' time. Only Nintendo game I'm mildly interested in is 'Smash Bros.'

I think Naught Dog is a big overrated. Uncharted wasn't anything special.

I'm a huge fan of JRPGs but don't like those 'Persona' games.

arma 3 is about as tactical as a game has ever been. i own the game and have barely played it because i have no idea what im doing and i am the kinda person that plays over 200 hours of operation flashpoint. it might be for you.

i also have no shortage of japanese games like Ys or weird japanese shmups all available through steam, GOG, playism, nyu media.

and when all else fails, there are emulators for anything you missed out on in the past. that was the only way i was ever going to be able to play games like progear

We pointed out weird japanese stuff because you mentioend it.

From the little I've played of SWAT 4, it did seem like the GOAT tactical shooter. Sometimes the GOAT is just the GOAT and doesn't get beaten. That's just what it is.

But there are good games in every genre. For example, tactical shooters has ARMA as @NZA mentioned but there are some indie ones out or on the way out as well. For example, Intruder, Ground Branch, Insurgency. Also The Division looks pretty close to that category. I like the alternative takes on a "traditional shooter" like the top-down Door Kickers.

I just think there's stuff out there for everybody. More importantly, you not liking Titanfall doesn't make it bad. It's just not your cup of tea. Many other people think it's great.

on the japanese stuff, i probably misread your post...

i played the demo of swat 4, it was definitely great. operation flashpoint and arma also have that level of tactical detail to them...actually, nothing really compares to the scope of arma 3. i would play it before judging how it looks in a video.

The irony is it's really fun to play with casuals that have no idea what they're doing because the mechanics are so simple and accessible (a la Smash). But yeah, your bro would clown you though.
