Summary: Africans were in the America’s long before 1492.
The question is were the majority of African shipped as slaves primarily west africa more than those already in america? I think so. Although I'm Not denying African didn't travelled of course they did but some folks believe native indian is black culture in north america to me that's culture appropriation to think that way.
What I find interesting some folks go out there way to deny west african roots.
One thing for sure "more " of art,drawings, sculpture ,traditions or music language would have been more easily discovered and passed down by generations and prominent in black america"Before" european colonization in america. Even the native indians have generations of heritage and culture and spirituality or artifacts etc within their culture even after being conquered and slaughtered and the same applies to indians in Mexico and indigenous groups throughout the world.
So no unfortunately I don't believe majority of blacks were in america based on what I stayed above before europeans and yes more brothers and sisters in slaves shipped here in America and carribean islands.
Also we let folks limit history to only slavery and followers of the bible or quaran everything else we skip over lost civilization in africa for some reason
