I live with three other people and I pay $850 a month...TBH our apartment is overpriced (2400 three bedrooms) and the building is riddled with problems. There are more than likely cheaper spots around. On Eldert St. & Irving (where I was today) there's a new one bedroom complex complex that's opening up...no word on prices since it's fairly new.
Crown Heights, I'd live there again in a heartbeat.
How's the neighborhood like though you like the feel of bushwick?
.Yeah I don't really mess with Yonkers like that, but as long as you get more inland, you get some nicer homes...especially closer to North Yonkers.
Tuckahoe Road is one thing...but living in Tuckahoe is another. I'd love to live in Tuckahoe if I could afford the homes there. It's very quiet and suburban but like a 25- minute train ride to GC.
yeah but thats it ......im down there everyday...everytime something new opens ...it only lasts a couple months before it shuts down....im interested in how this new shop rite will doyou didnt see downtown newark?
The projects in the Bronx and Harlem is really resisting any type of full on gentrification.
Queens is too tight knit/private ownership.
So I believe unless we see some type of real estate boom the gentrification will just be pushing deeper and deeper into brooklyn. They're banging on on the door of East New York right now.
out, meaning that your have to go out of your way to get out there, like it is nowHere's the thing man...you gotta be careful what you wish for.i want to leave ny but i want to be close enough to still come whenever i want. right now me and wifey have a 10 year plan to buy a home. working on credit scores and eliminating her student loans and my irs debt and hopefully by the time im 40 we can go somewhere nice. im getting tired of living in this city even tho i love everything else about it besides cost of living.

When you're used to living that NY life, it's hard to adjust. I lived in Cali for a short while and I thought it would be nice. But you don't realize that when you have something new, it comes with things you might not like. So in Cali the weather was good, but the food sucked. And the music wasn't my thing. And the people didn't understand some of my mentality or lingo or jokes. I mean these are small things. And you can get used to them. But it's an adjustment most don't think about.
There ain't no Dominicans in LA bro. Unless they're on the Dodgers. And forget about morir soñando and mangu.
I really wish you well on your plans. You seem like a cool dude. Moving upstate or whatever can be good. But if you're a Dominican thinking about relocating to like...Omaha....te jodiste. Hahaha.
nah nah i would never leave that far. im talking like somewhere in north jersey or somewhere like port chester ny where my aunt lives. somewhere far enough to be cheaper but not too far to come visit every weekend if need be. my cousin lived in cali and he loved it but my wife's cousin been living out there for a few years and she is coming back this summer. different strokes. my cousin says the same thing about cali tho, he loved it cause he was making money out there but he hated the food and he felt like an alien being the only non-mexican or south american latino out there
I hear you. Portchester is actually getting nicer. My uncle owns 3 houses out there. I used to go eat at Pollo a la Brasa. It's not as good as it used to be. Next door there's Q Barbecue. They're good. I eat there like once a month. There's this dirty bar out there that has the best pizza. Nobody really knows about it tho. That town has a lot of great restaurants man. People drive in from Greenwich all the time. And Mario Batali has a store there. Forgot what it's called. Tarry something. Tarry Market?

Aww look at the Dominicans bonding in here![]()
