Combat was the editor or some such for The Source for a very short period of time. I think Londell fired him.Why doesn't Combat like him?

Their point was that his power is not related to hip hop. He was right about that. When you get into stuff like that you are just talking about general culture influence and Smiley could be on any list. THey are asking for the hip hop hook.damn Londell sonned the fukk out of them. Rosenberg was in way over his head. worth a watch. I don't understand what was so difficult for them to understand about Ricky Smiley. If Ricky throws your record into rotation or gives you attention it's way more powerful than if Rosenberg gives you a spin. It's called POWER rankings.
@CombatJack what's goodInterestingly enough, Combat Jack doesn't eff with Londell. So I can't eff with him either![]()

ahh ok I misunderstood then.Their point was that his power is not related to hip hop. He was right about that. When you get into stuff like that you are just talking about general culture influence and Smiley could be on any list. THey are asking for the hip hop hook.
He's not the one who does the list, there's a bunch of people. He's the owner of the magazine and probably the one you want speaking for the company since he's respected, an OG and articulate. He also is an old, out of touch fukk who doesn't understand who appeals to the youth.
#6 and #9......not bad being that they share the same target demographicDog CTG's job is to be the Angela Yee.
Neither of these shows are really about Hip Hop...they are gossip shows.
Breakfast Club and Ebro in the Morning are ranked like 15 & 16 in NYC radio (maybe even higher)...neither one are that big.
youre right.#6 and #9......not bad being that they share the same target demographic
+ 16-30 year olds don't really listen to the radio like the much older WBLS target demographic
RADIO ONLINE ®

I totally agree thereyoure right.
but when looking online...their presence is less than WSHH & Vlad.
I honestly dont think CTG or the Hot97 cats have that much pull.
If any of them left their shows the most they could do is a semi popular Youtube channel.
Maybe not Ebro & Envy since they had good careers before this.
But CTG needs solid CoHost (his MTV2 shows are bad), and Rosenberg is a non issue.
until breakfast club got mentioned

That painfully slow burn was painful to watch

I haven't seen the list but I'm sure their are a lot of people on it that would have the same issue. I'm sure he'd have alot more opportunities if he were to lose his job. If you don't think alot of people aren't speaking from a place of hate then you're just being silly.Bullshyt "you don't agree with him so you must hate him" rhetoric. Pathetic.
He's too emotional, and thinks too much of himself. He has a voice in hip hop only because of his employer. Dude was right, if he got fired tomorrow he would just be a another bum
