why would he glorify something like that? so you guys can get your rocks off on a situation you're not living in but love to observe from the outside?

That movie ain't gonna be what alot of people think it is. Spike throwing a lot of nikkas and Cacs for a loop. It's based off Lysistrata, this Greek play, but is set around hood shyt. I'm interested in seeing it.

So i just read through the Wiki summary of "lysistrata"

Its about how women within two warring nations go on sexual strike to force the two sides of the Peloponnesian War to end the fighting. Apparently its a dark comedy but the major themes are how conflict is created by men but affects women just as, if not more detrimentally. Also themes of female empowerment seem to be present as the women decide to take charge to end the war.

shyt has a happy ending too which if Spike is directly adapting it, is kinda disappointing for a movie called Chi-Raq.

Really I figured this type of movie would be full blown nihilistic. Just really analyzing the type of shyt that goes on that would create those savage kids and how gang violence has become so meaningless in compared to the battle over street corners and carters the 70s-90s were.

Spike's problem is that he keeps making the same movie over and over. Yeah of course he had a few exceptions in his movies that were completely original but for the most part this movie here seems like a remix. That's why it comes off as flabby and sick.
