It's about a fukking greek play though. I ain't gonna argue with you because you are right on the surface and with a name like Chiraq WE expected something different. However, that doesn't mean this shyt can't be great is all I'm saying.

When he came here, it was made out like it was going to be about our city and what really goes on here,the lifestyle,the struggle, not just the bad but the good also.... When i seen the trailer, other than them being in chicago. I dont see one thing that resemble us. He shoulda said from the jump that the movie was based off a greek play and not life in chicago., we was expecting different. But in spikes defense ppl should still give the movie a chance

I think a lot of yall are missing the point. He's trying to bring satire to a situation of stupidity, where people are waving guns around like idiots and killing 9 year olds.

why would he glorify something like that? so you guys can get your rocks off on a situation you're not living in but love to observe from the outside?

As far as the movie, the premise has potential, but I don't know if Spike Lee can execute it properly.

The plot reminds me of this TERRIBLE movie that came out a few years ago starring Trina called "A Miami Tail".


Women of the community go on strike until the gang bangers come to a truce and stop community violence. The film was laughably awful and the only reason I watched it was because my Aunt had a pretty big role in it (if you've ever seen it she plays Mama Africa) and Trina was in her physical prime.



Spike's version looks MUCH better and my future wife Teyonah Parrsh is in it. Spike usually knocks this type of stuff out of the park and if you honestly think there will be no underlying message then you've NEVER seen a Spike Lee Joint
