Biggest artists in the world at that time.

What they do?

They run the same ol ' i hustled, i got bank, i'm bigger than you, when you see me coming thru' tired ass shyt.

fukk outta here, i lost a lot of respect for Jay, and Kanye by association, on that one. The same ol bullshyt, how you not going to grow as an artist? That was your moment to be something bigger, instead you bring the same tales and the minions lap it up because you brilliant at brand/image protection.

That's Jay best strength, image creation/protection. I worked with Beyonce on her self titled album music videos, i seen it rub off on her. She got two employees on rotation deleting/protecting brand on the internet etc.

Believe me if you want or not.
Or do you just skim through it :francis:

That was literally a once in a lifetime moment in hip-hop. IMO there will never be a moment as big as that ever again.

The album is a classic 10 years later. I don’t care what anybody says.

I also remember the amount of hate the album got just from the underground blogging rappers/fans cause the spotlight was being taken away from them. Will never forget Joe Budden, Saigon, 9th Wonder, and a bunch of them going on Twitter giving their “hot takes” when really they just came off as bitter and hating. Good times :pachaha:

So glad I went to that concert when they came out to The Bay. They literally went 2 hours just playing back to back hits :wow:

That’s why I laughed at Future and Drake trying to mimic WTT with WATBA. Even with the cover art :russ: Sure the music was cool but it didn’t have the same impact WTT had.

As much as y’all would want a WTT 2. I honestly feel it shouldn’t happen. Even though they are cool now, Hov and Ye are 2 different people at this point in their lives. Personally, financially, and musically.

WTT happened in the right place and at the right time. And they should just leave it alone.

You had to be there to witness it..

2009-2012 was a crazy Kanye run. Well I guess you can include the transition from Graduation to 808s, but that was a whole separate tangent on its own. But Ye and No ID experimented on Blueprint 3 - some hits, some misses - eventually the Taylor Swift saga happened, Ye broke up with Amber, and he's in Honolulu re-experimenting with MBDTF alongside the same crew - but also people like Nicki & Ross that are releasing classic albums soon after (Teflon Don, Pink Friday).... then it all peaks with WTT and then it sunsets into Cruel Summer. Then you factor in the WTT Tour which forever remains a classic one in terms of stage performance.

Wild times.

Kanye at Coachella :wow:

How you forget Kanye at Coachella

After the shyt at Coachella nobody could deny he was a God

Plus the iconic Air Yeezy II

Randomly saw the tweet on my Timehop app but i remember he said that he wasn’t feeling the album and Hov and Ye could have done better. This was during the early era of Twitter where everybody was honest before folks got PC lol
9th trippin, that’s wild. I was in highschool just enjoying that shyt.

Came out same week as the riots here in London. I just remember the madness of being in Shepherd's Bush and rioting happening all over the city and hearing cars drive past blaring Murder to Excellence, Who Gone Stop Me etc

Was a great album. Couple of weak cuts but for most part can play it front to back. The bonus cuts are the highlight for me bar Murder to Excellence.

Primetime and Joy are just :blessed:
