Okay...
What is your stance on this? Are you saying, outside of the watch dogs delay, the video game Consumer doesn't get jerked around more than the average consumer?

Consider DLC controversies, unfinished games and let's even go back to the days of CGI trailers tricking gamers...

The video game consumer gets more power and consideration than any other consumer.

Most of the "controversies" are created by video game consumers and the power they feel entitled to. You want to control how the games are developed, you want to control when they come out. You want to control how the games are monetized.

Name another industry that is expected to give a play by play on the product during all phases of production, listen to fan feedback, and do everything the fans ask for, or there will be some sort of "controversy"

Video game development is much more expensive and risky than ever, yet the prices passed on to consumers are some of the lowest ever.

And all people do is complain:snoop:

this thread should go to the bushes. ubisoft never abandoned the trademark or even tried to. this is fake news.

On February 1, 2014, Ubisoft Entertainment received an email from TEAS@uspto.gov notifying Ubisoft Entertainment that a Request for Express Abandonment had been filed in connection with Application Serial No. 85642398. The Request for Express Abandonment purports to be signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Ubisoft Entertainment, Yves Guillemot.

Mr. Guillemot, however, did not sign the Request for Express Abandonment, nor did Ubisoft Entertainment file the Request for Express Abandonment. The Request for Express Abandonment is fraudulent and was not filed by Ubisoft Entertainment or its representative.

As of this filing, the Office has not yet issued a Notice of Abandonment.

The controversy is real. They have been putting out games with content on the game which you have to unlock by buying it. They have been remaking games with the same engines over and over and not innovating anything yet they want more money. They do not have to give a play by play during production, they do that to promote the game and raise awareness and a big part of that is being disingenuous about the product so when it finally comes out it's not as good as people thought it was going to be. Im sick of hearing about how expensive it is to make games too, if it's that expensive raise game prices to 150 dollars and see how far you get. It's not my fault they want to hire actors, run ads with athletes and have a massive global marketing campaign. None of that has to do with what your game is worth.

They make the game they have the right to decide how to make money off of it. You don't like, you don't buy. Appearantly a lot of people like these types of systems which is why they have been successful.

They have been remaking games with the same engines over and over and not innovating anything yet they want more money.
They actually want less money and the games are more sophisticated than ever. They continue to work on and improve the games after release.

They do not have to give a play by play during production, they do that to promote the game and raise awareness and a big part of that is being disingenuous about the product so when it finally comes out it's not as good as people thought it was going to be.
You say they aren't expected to give a play by play, but then you feel entitled to know whether the game is good or not before release. You don't know if a movie or a book is good unless you pay your money to experince it yourself.

They can't raise game prices or that would be a "controversy". Which is why they have come up with more inventive ways to make money. It's not up to you to decide how much the games are worth. Millions of people buy them and feel they are worth the money. People on the Internet complain.

it's not even expensive to make these games. the problem is they spend a lot of money on marketing. plus all these companies with their cash grab projects just hurts the industry further down the line.

maybe people shouldn't pre-order the game, and buy the season pass for all future dlc, based off some hype and/or a name

another issue is that 'gamers' seem to get the most vocal about trivial shyt like the Mass Effect 3 ending
