How can it be 2022 and people still not know about slavery?
Because in America you can have American history for 8 years in grade school but still manage to gloss over slavery outside of one cottonfield image and one page covering Harriet Tubman. And to think, some states (Republicans) think that is too far.

That's my takeaway from this thread, OP thinking talking about racism is CRT
Is that what OP is doing? Because when I think of CRT, I don't think of it as actually CRT, which is hyper focused on the issues of racial justice, but instead, anything highlighting racism or suggesting there are forms of institutionalized racism. I'm almost certain, if put to a poll, the average Republican railing against CRT would define it as anything that aims to hold white people accountable for their treatment of black people. So I assumed OP was using "CRT" in the manner that most Republicans interpret it to be and not intentionally conflating the two. But maybe you guys are aware of intentions I wouldn't recognize here.

It puts things into perspective.

Generations grew up being taught curriculum developed by racist CAC. Why do you think there were so many confederate monuments built to honor racists who broke from the union.

They all need to see this shyt.
Cmon breh, do you really think that adult cac haven't watched these type of movies before :comeon:

It’s like someone who grew up with wealth being shielded from and then become oblivious to someone poor.

Someone who grew up in rural areas, not being able to understand someone who lives in a big city. Perceptions get altered.

The history of slavery and the decades following its aftermath have become distorted.

The suburbs
The freeway/highway system
The police department
The prison system

All birthed from and/or derived/enhanced from racism.

Maybe if people watch a movie like this they will ask questions and explore more history.

CRT is a name. A catch phrase. What’s more important is the content.
