Slim could to and is a legendary artist out of NO. Lisa is known more for her work with TLC.

No disrespect to Lisa (Rip) but Slim should've at least charted

but why single left eye out?

theres a handful of names that should be called out before her.

I'm more partial to the ones that didn't get the chance.

I'm not tryna put pac/big/eazy at 1.2.3

we saw what they could do, and there was nowhere left for any of them to go but down.
pac had prolly 1 classic left
big would've faced hella backlash for LAD.
eazy had the most value since he had ruthless. but at the same time, this list was supposed to focus on rappers so ehh.

She sang and rap and wasn't someone I would consider an MC.

she really just sang background.

and if shes not an MC, then 90% of female rappers aren't MCs. seeing that she outshined a bunch of them on tracks and actually wrote her own chit.

she shouldn't be criticized for not limiting herself to mic check 1-2 1-2.

First of all if you were so knowledgeable you would know he said he NEVER signed anything :beli:
and he had been down with them wayyyyyy before his album dropped considering he was on the bout it soundtrack :martin:
if you feel L was average then :manny: I have no dog in this fight but when we talking about hip hop as a whole and what's relevant to THIS thread you know DAMN well the majority of the FANS would say Big L was a better artist than Slim and that he would rate higher on a list about dead rappers :yeshrug: you KNOW this but you wanted to go against the grain like too many clowns on here.
Well he said he signed a contract on this song right here

Soulja Slim Murder Dog Interview on why He Left No limit
’98 when I got outta the pen, ya heard me? It was poppin, then No Limit was the shyt. I needed a few dollars at the time, so I went and hollered at the nikka. KL brought me down there and I just laced it on up. Didn’t sign a contract or nothin, they gave me like 60 g’s, ya heard me? Master P, weren’t about nothing, he showed a nikka how to play the game, owes a nikka a few dollars too. Know what I’m talkin about? Ain’t ‘bout nothin.

At the time you got signed you were locked up or you were out?

I ain’t never been signed. All this rappin I been doin, that’s how gangsta I am.

slim rapped about signing with no limit on multiple songs, but I think that was just figurative language at no limit.

they say master p wasn't really signing dudes to actual contracts like that until he had to, when it was time to re-up with a new deal with priority or somethin.

slim was booked when all that was going down.

biggie was technically 4 albums & 4 years in.

he wasn't exactly fresh meat. and the 2nd album was a step down.
