Dee, TC, & Dupre dont even come on until S3 I think

I liked monique cause she got that crazy sexy ish going on but when dee joined is when shyt hit next level

Yeah, mid season S3. I think TC or is talked about in S2 or whatever because Marlon brings him through to offer Shawn the loan to buy the newsstand irrc

Dee fine ass was hilarious and that Bernie episode was S3. I think the temptones may have been in the later parts of S3 or early S4, but which season has Marlon basically on tour for a play/musical?

Still top tier GOAT but I enjoy the slapstickish shyt from at least end of S1 to beginning of S4.

But the episodes where they thought grandma was dating a serial killer and tried to poison fred, the shank episode with Bernie Mac, the fake dinner with Monique and Shawn, the one where Shawn dates some psycho who moves in and shyt are up there for me.

I should be hitting the later seasons tonight and this week so who knows, might change

I don't think I've ever seen anyone say the first two seasons are impeccable. :skip:

The show literally transforms once Marlon cuts his hair. I can't think of a single episode from the first two seasons that I have any desire to rewatch.

Tripping. Goop Hair It Is is still hilarious, the black text one is, the one where they become landlords, fatal attraction with old girl from the Jamie Foxx show where she is literally insane, the episode where Kim comes in town as their country cousin, etc.

S3 has the Colt 45 episode criticizing white people. Theepisode where ol boy keeps still Shawn's marketing once he got the job. The fake marriage story. The temptones episode. Etc etc

ya'll need to rewatch these because they absolutely hold up. Especially in comparison to S5 where Marlon is the successful one from being a famous actor and shyt.

I love season three. But you're claiming that seasons one and two are part of the show's prime when they're not. Season four is one of the best seasons I've seen from any sitcom.

Marlon and Shawn are on record stating that they felt like they were embarrassing the family in the earlier seasons. The writers they were working with didn't get the show or what they were trying to do. A lot of people were getting fired and they had to rewrite the scripts hours before filming. Shawn even complained to John Witherspoon and he told him not to let the network get to him because if the show made it to 100 episodes, they would get a great syndication deal.

Looking at the first two seasons, you can tell Marlon and Shawn don't have a lot of creative control. They were trying to make Marlon more sincere and weren't playing to his strengths. Most of his dialogue sounds like it was written for him, which wouldn't be a problem if he wasn't a writer himself and couldn't ad-lib. The plots aren't that unique, either. You could see a lot of other shows do them, or at least approach them in the exact same way.

I'll give season two some credit because it tried to move things in the right direction. They introduced the newsstand, redesigned the diner, got rid of Shawn's girlfriend, added Dee and T.C. The writing still wasn't there yet, but near the end of season two, it started shifting in the right direction.

The minute season three starts, it's like a light went off. Marlon was allowed to be himself and he became more unhinged, him and Shawn were more confident as actors, and they figured out which side characters worked the best (Dee, T.C., Dupree). Marlon becoming an actor is part of the reason the show got better because it opened up the door for more stories (you mentioned one of them with the malt liquor episode). A few episodes into season three, you can tell that no one's telling Marlon and Shawn what to do anymore and it's 100% their show.

You don't like season five, but the season premiere was arguably a top ten episode, and it has this scene.

I don't like the weed episode, either, but it's probably the only episode after season two that I wouldn't rewatch. Even then, it still has more energy than an episode from the first two seasons.

That scene is exactly what we're all talking about

"No string attach my fren:to:"

"Mi amor:to:"

"Quiero Taco Bell:to:"

You could tell Shawn was tryna keep himself from laughing:russ:

My Pops Forever RIP
Yeah I can't lie, I can't remember shyt from the first two seasons and I don't even go back to those early seasons. They hit their stride once Dee came in and they changed the diner set. Season 3 on I felt that they were rolling so much so that they could've and should've gotten another season. You can tell because as the show went on they got more comfortable and would ad lib shyt. Matter of fact, I think they said the first couple seasons the network tried to strong arm shyt and they didn't even like those early seasons as much.
best shyt was them leaving in the parts where they're clearly ad-libbing and improvising and they're barely tryna keep from laughing.

top 5 best Wayans Bros. episodes IMO

1. the one where Shawn has commitment anxiety because his girl left a note for Marlon that he didn't give him.
2. the episode where Marlon's resentful of Kenny Lofton
3. the Temptones episode
4. the episode with Bernie Mac as Shank
5. the episode with Macho Camacho

halfway between season 3 to most of season is some of the best tv comedy ever.

To me they are. I've listed episodes before and during at season 3.

I said 1-3 have impeccable episodes. I even listed out several of them episodes in those 3 seasons but still haven't gave me anything in comparison.

I listed off some of my favorite season 1-3 episodes and moments, can you just do the same?.

The things you're praising are ones I'm not.

I've gave several S1-S3 episodes to you. What season 4/5 episodes are beating the ones I've listed..

I genuinely don't even think they agree with your thoughts if we look at their later movies. It's not congruent at all

None of these are past Season 3 iirc.

People thinking season 4 and 5 are the best seasons is new to me tbh. I think the.m Camacho episode is the only one past season 4 and is late season 4.

the episode about commitment anxiety was the S4 premiere

With Marlon, I'm assuming? See, still good writing but just wasn't a fan of that arc.

already know every season was fire so might fukk with it more now. I thought it basically Marlon was in requiem for q dream or a whatever but that was 3 years later at least

thankful they got scary movie back tbh.
