Too lazy to think hard about it but what examples are there of kids who ended up equaling or surpassing their elite level parents at the same sport? And yes I understand that relative to the general public, just making it to professional status = elite. I’m talking about elite when considering the history of the sport itself.

Jordan's father played semi-pro baseball. But I think that's (somewhat) of his point: Jordan and LeBron (and others) are genetic lottery tickets. If you want the direct offspring to even be a quarter of that you may have to practice a bit of sports eugenics.
