I'd rather be around dumb people who sometimes look at their smartphones to know stuff from time to time than just plain dumb people.
Cuzz...I would agree with you if I was certain the bold was happening. But I am not.
I'd rather be around dumb people who sometimes look at their smartphones to know stuff from time to time than just plain dumb people.
I'm not buying it.
The average teen has more access to MORE information than ever before. Ignorance may be soon a thing of the past.
While, more people do exposed to more fukkery, more people DO get exposed to more immediate information.
The other day at the bar, we had a question that we couldn't answer until we remembered we all had smartphones on us. 15 years ago we'd argue until we were blue in the fukking face.
Having "more access to MORE information" does not = "know more information"
In the example you gave, all of you having smartphones doesn't mean you all weren't idiots. lol

It does though.
What you remember is another thing, but being able to immediate source info isn't a bad thing at all...and it does resolve a lot of issues that come from ignorance.
I encounter tons of info I don't "remember"...so?No, it doesn't.
If you don't remember something, you don't know it. lol
But beyond that - I know teachers who have let me know that they don't teach things in school
that used to be basic because the rationale is such is obsolete because of our devices.
All that does is make you dependent on a device instead of finding different ways to get results.
I encounter tons of info I don't "remember"...so?
many people take out their phones because they dont want to be bugged."So"...you don't know it. Now what will you do when you don't have your device,
and you need to "remember" that information that you don't know/never thought enough of to learn?
(rhetorical)
Sure the mechanics of "learning" have changed, but having access to info is NOT a bad thing.
I'd venture to say people are READING more than ever though.
