I hope federal Marijuana legalization happens fast and black farmers should have first dibs on growing it and even being subsidized by the government .

America isn’t an agricultural society anymore, and it never will be again because advancements in technology makes growing your own crops unnecessary .
people already got businesses ready to go and they are listed on the stock market too.

before Canada legalized weed the white people had grow operations and store fronts ready to go waiting 4-5 years in anticipation. you late to the party already breh shyt is a corporate game. If brehs were serious about locking down the weed game they could do it simply by controlling where they spend the money. all the biggest strains got popularized in rap the last 15 years. That's free advertising. Now with signature strains you could easily drive the market share to a select few growers and retailers, preferably Black. people have all the power and freely give it away.

as far as growing food self sustenance will never go out of style.

I seriously don't know how to talk to brehs about elections anymore.

We'll post and read shyt like this, but, call fellow black people all types of devils for imploring us to make DEMANDS of these muthafukking politicians.

Are ya'll just so use to black people suffering that it's whatever?

Goddamn, I'm tired of reading shyt like this.

it kinda already has:yeshrug: but it shouldn’t as just a surplus to our food, during our busy lives.

and the sentiment in this thread seem to suggest black folks move their families back into a primary agriculture lifestyle and that’s just unrealistic.

growing food will NEVER go out of style. you buggin lol.. and no the article suggests and that Black people should be represented in every facet of society. it just focuses on farming.

lol @ discarding something as vital as food production but this is an essential business not a want business. that's incredibly short sighted. even rich folks supplement their meals with things grown in their vegetable gardens. some of you brehs are just fully indoctrinated into being consumers for life. that mentality you can't shake.

growing food isn't important you say but growing weed is.

:mindblown:

Everywhere...You never there.
This is so sad. NPR did a segment about black farmers and the amount of sabotage they face from the government. I hope they get a pass to grow marijuana, I feel it could renew interest in the younger generation.

Yeah I remember that segment . This always saddens me . But yeah , a number of black farmers are converting to hemp and marijuana.

This seems like a good opportunity for investment. But you still need people to work the land.

Also, good supply chain should be established. These farmers need to be able to have a guarantee their product is going to be transported and sold.

I'm starting a farm before I die and I'm raising my kids to carry it on. I'm already buying each of them a peice of land every birthday. They don't care now but they will when they own 1000s of acres by the time they're adults :blessed:

Is there some kind of Black farmer association where we can learn and work together?

I live in the city no farms around and years ago this Black woman came up to me and gave me a card for a Black growers association. Some cities have set asides like this where they have allocated land parcelled out for people to go and plant a few things. a great place to start would be one of those type places. look up one near you. kids could learn to grow herbs and veggies there as well.
