It's cool. But isn't being black (by most black peoples' own definition) about how you're perceived? If it's any shade of brown then why don't you claim Mexicans, Indians, Pakis, etc. as well?

I dont percieve mexicans indians pakistanis to be black unless they percieve to be mixed with black to some degree.

If they clearly look indian and mexican and tell me their great great great grandfather was a black man, im not going to tell them they're black. If they want to acknowledge their african roots in their own way, thats up to them. I cant really call that one.

So in that same regard if both of your parents are black but you don't look black due to being mixed down the line and aren't perceived as such by society then how can one say that they're black or know what it's like to face black-specific issues That's all I'm getting at. you do realize africa has a diverse group of people for example somalians do not look like liberians who do not look kenyans who do not look like nambians. east africans have thin lips, small noses, west africans have the bigger features which is dominate in the west because of the slave trade. however truth be told, west africans COME FROM east africans. egypt, sudan, ethiopia is our original origin.

if whites can go from looking like dark short bosnians or italians, to tall swedes, what makes you think blacks arent even more diverse on a huge continent like africa. south indians like sri lankans also originate from africa

Spaniards and italians dont have blonde hair blue eyes, some have big noses and curly black hair, so are you going to say that spanish people and italians aren't white because they look like their previous moors conquers?

the world isn't as pure as some may think. the closer a country is to another, the more you see the people gradually begin to get into a grey area.

I think in you're case, the problem is you arent around enough black people to see how diverse, we are.
