Ehh if we get Green and Jamison, Cook is really just icing on the cake. I know he is rated higher but I think the other 2 will be better long term. Herman has definitely impressed with this class so far tho.
pretty sure jamison is a silent. i think cook ends up at texas too. lamar is a texas pipeline for athletes and students.

what are your expectations for this year? are the leftovers from the '15 class going to step up and lead this team? (roach, etc.)

After watching that Aussie tournament, don't know if you want to know.

I can't make a prediction because I really have no idea about the rest of the conference. Should be better than last year. HAVOC actually worked at times. I think the first 7 are pretty salty if they stick to their roles. That's Roach, Jones, Bamba, Dylan O and Matt Coleman. The next two, IMO are Sims and Febres. I actually like Hamm(looked lost at times, but at least works and plays his role) more than Davis and Young.They still both chuckers that don't have any idea when to shoot :dahell:. Backup PG is still a concern. Drew just can't dribble well enough to do it. I think the best sets they ran including hi-lo with Bamba and Dylan O. Both can drive, shoot and play the post. The surprises to me were Sims and Febres. Febres knows his role and plays off of the big men well. Sims is just...............that dude could blow up as far as the draft goes. Crazy athleticism. Wide shoulders. Not afraid to mix it up, and decent shot from the elbow as well as moves to the basket. The really can play succesful big lineup with Dylan O, Bamba and Otsekowski or you can pair up Sims with one of the other bigs. Bamba surprised a little bit as well. Nice, smooth shot. Decent moves facing up and back to the basket. Not afraid to mix it up. No nonsense finisher. Gotta be the longest human being I've ever seen. Not the tallest, just long ass arms and big shoulders. Here are a few highlights from the trip

Bamba got that superstar potential.

:snoop:What does it say about Heard a 4th year junior, that a True Frosh starting over him?

:mindblown: If J.T. Barrett & Greg Ward Jr. can play in this system, I don't understand why Heard hasn't stepped up to be QB1?

@dtownreppin214 @macpat @Spade

Ohio State/Herman went 24-2 with Braxton miller his sophomore year and junior year...

He threw for just a little over 2000 yards in both years. Running game dominated....

Nothing really, just that he didn't play QB last year or in the spring. If he played QB last year he'd likely be starting. Remember that Herman says he didn't watch past tape of the team. If he did, Malik wouldn't be inside anymore, Hughes wouldn't be starting and he would have begged Heard to return to QB. Heard could kill it in this offense. I would start practicing him there full time immediately. If he's worried about pro prospects just remind him how easily he transitioned to receiver before. He could be the answer if Ehlinger isn't ready yet. Ehlinger is a great fit for the offense too though. Just not Heard level, but he's not skruggle level like Buchele in the open field.

Heard got screwed over with coordinators in his career. Herman can make this right. They say its a more complicated offense than last year, but it damn sure looked like simple spread concepts in the passing game with a few zone runs and screens mixed in.

Heard lost confidence after that Baylor/TCU/Iowa State stretch

He was bad. However, with his athleticism all he had to do was stick with it. I get being worried about Shane coming in, but he still had a shot to evolve like Pat White did. He's not a pro prospect but he can be a very good college QB.

Ultimately though Texas really needs to go find a Lamar Jackson type to go to the next level. A true dual threat QB and the offense will be great. I still think Texas is loaded at WR. :yeshrug:

I remember thinking Heard was a better Braxton Miller. If he could succeed at qb it's with this coach. Shane just doesn't have the wheels to make him a viable threat in this offense

SMH. The dude who wrote this article should know better. Heard was moved to WR because the new offense we ran last year isn't a good fit for him. I said it last year during Spring Football that Heard (& even Kai Locksley) would've been better off if Herman was hired because Herman's offense is a much better fit for Heard.

By the time they come to their senses and move Heard back to QB full time it'll be too late. But hopefully it'll build excitement for next year.
