I wonder how the players feel about Sam right now.
I'm looking forward to a new QB as well just so we can become a program that doesn't incessantly focus on one player and markets his "story". I've been uncomfortable with how "Sam-centric" this entire program has become for a while, Now, it's just going into overdrive with this Eyes thing.

And these white folks love him for it. I’ve been hearing them talk about the school should “give em the boot” or “take their scholarships” since Saturday. I was off the bandwagon of Ehlinger this past Saturday. He got back because OU refused to put the game away (or couldn't) and he did it with his legs. The better passer for this team was always Shane. But Herman liked Ehlingers running ability.
I also see this as exposing Hermans poor leadership. I think CDC is setting the seeds of getting rid of Herman. If a loss happens to OK State, a mid-season firing is not out of the question because they would finish Texas chances of going to the big 12 title game in the year that most people thought was the best team in the conference going into 2020.

I honestly think that is what ultimately is going to happen. There is a misconception this is only a black student/athlete issue but there are plenty of other people that just want to do away with the song at this point and don't like the fact that a bunch of old rich white men are threatening to hold their wallets hostage as a way to force people into the tradition because if it's no longer genuine then what's the point.
