Unless Arte Moreno is prepared to give Ohtani a contract equal to, or greater than Mike Trout's 426 million....this will be a horrific decision by the Angels.
Because Ohtani would be a damned fool to not go into Free Agency now.
LAA is telling the league that they intend to run it back in 2023 and hope Rendon and Trout are fully healthy and that they can carry a bum ass pitching rotation to a title.
Hint: It's not going to happen.
The ship might have sailed on Dinelson Lamet but goodness, if a team could ever get Lamet to avoid walks, he's a star. He's got that kind of stuff.
Maybe Milwaukee is thinking Lamet can sneakily become another Eric Lauer for them -- whom they also got from San Diego a while back.

Why are they trading Hader? They’re in playoff contention
Devin Williams has been way better and should be their closer now. Hader is also set to make like $16 mill next year. So it's them being a little cheap and also having a worthy replacement already.
