Something about playing in Detroit is killing Javier Baez.

At home he’s hitting .177 with just a 35 wRC+

Away he’s hitting .254 with a 115 wRC+

Not exactly a star on the road but way more acceptable.

His road/home splits in terms of ISO is ridiculous (.075 vs .219)

For one it's his approach at the plate. Comerica is a big ballpark. He tries to pull everything instead of using the gaps.

I haven't watched the tigers in a month and I'm sure he's still swinging at sliders down and away.

He has the physical gifts but you can tell he doesn't watch film and do the small detail things to make you successful.

He has 16 errors this year which is awful. Most of them are bad throws he makes on simple throws to first cuz his footwork is lazy. He'll make the spectacular plays.

He's the most hated Tiger since Bobby Higginson

His exit velocity is the lowest of his career, and his hard hit % is down 10% from last year and lowest since his first full season. His chase rate is also 4th from the bottom of qualified hitters

He's just having an awful season. All the underlined metrics align with his performance being this bad

Lol Bobby higginson. The Tigers were so bad in the 90s but that was one dude I thought looked like a slime ball who belonged at Tiger Stadium :russ:

And the name bobby higginson just sounds like someone who smells bad and doesnt give a shyt about it :scust:

Those were dark times. Higginson never ran to 1st base when he grounded out to an infielder. Cacs hated this bum.

And Tiger Stadium was a dump. It had the worst sight lines and you were on top of each other so you would be miserable going to a game in the summer.

It was no coincidence that soon as Higginson contract ended we got good again

Right, when did the Astros win the championship genius?

:skip: The cubs were finalists & just won the championship in 2016

Rangers had the biggest pool , the rest were his preference of west coast teams.Stop lyin

I hated Higgy because he turned into complete trash as soon as he got a big contract. Four out of the five seasons from '96-00, he averaged an OPS of around .900 with 27 HRs and 90+ RBIs. Immediately fell off a cliff afterwards. :snoop:

My number one will always be Juan Gonzalez. He was AVERAGING something like 43 HR/140 RBI with two MVPs in the four seasons prior to getting traded to Detroit. I was hyped as fukk when they got him. I remember talking shyt to a friend who was a Cubs fan and was calling him Don Juan because The Source Sports issue was calling him that and picking the Tigers to win the division. :mjlol:

Dude dogged it all season, milked an injury and was bytching about the fences all season.

In short, fukk Juan Gonazlez.
