We cannot underestimate the role The Disney Channel had on creating the modern wench.

I mean, there's no actual argument being presented here against it. And besides Let it Shine and *maybe* Miles Morales, Disney makes no attempt to appeal towards young black men or uplift them. And even then, Let it Shine was still about rap music.

But that also goes for most media. And it's not like black men outside of the rap and sports industry don't exist. It's just that nobody pays attention to it. How many people ITT know who Dwayne Mcduffie was? Or Ian Jones Quartey? How many people know who gallant is? As far as I know, he's more popular with Korean women than he is with black women.

I'm not going to say OP is totally wrong but the media in general has done a number on both Black men and women. It has marginalized both Black male strength by presenting 2 extremes either violent hypermasculinity (BNBG) or the complete opposite (feminine presenting gay men or just scared cowards in general) and with showing Eurocentric beauty as the standard and white men and women being pedastalized as the gold. This is not to absolve Disney in any way but in general, Western media is a poison on the Black psyche in general.
This easily happens because we don't control our image and they know it. Most of our perception through the media has been limited to hood, sports, and love comedies. I will say Eddie Murphy did a great job over the years making entertaining movies with majority black cast.

Think about it like this breh

Tv is short for Television

Which sounds like “Tell a Vision”

And you have to “channel” each station

In order to watch a “program”

Thus it’s called TV Programming

It’s made that way for a reason breh, people are stupid, and media makes them do what people who know how to control light and sound want them to so
:ohhh:

this post would sound a lost more serious if you broke the etymology of tv down in an academic manner.

Tele - to transmit through a distance using frequencies.
Vision - visual image

TV - Transmitting a visual image over distance using a frequency on the bandwidth

You were so close yet so far

The Truth
If we believe that representation matters in media, then it's not a stretch to claim that there's some truth to what OP is saying.
Possibly

But homeboy went

in all honesty i quit watching it long before the jonas brothers and hannah montana so i have no fukking clue, you could be right. i guess my only question would be... what did the women before that grow up watching when they were kids? i feel like TV has always been geared towards white ppl and white kids. nickelodeon definitely had more programming geared towards black kids, but even nickelodeon was new when i was a child. so what were kids before taht watching? i just don't think it's a matter of tv shows tho, especially kids tv shows.

all i remember is when i watched the disney channel shyt it was the jersey and famous jett jackson, maybe very early even stevens and proud family.

i was done watching kid shows by the time that's so raven was on the air, would only see that shyt at my little cousins house.

Could bet money that the average black American young woman cared more about the below brehs than anyone one on Disney channel

mindless-behavior-comp-650-430.jpg
They have no idea that there is a group of BW who are STILL traumatized by Mindless Behavior's breakup. They were solely on the radars of young Black girls for a good 2 years, same as B2K before them(with B2k having way more crossover success.

That’s why I used you to close the gap

I determined your answer hours ahead and thus I left my explanation incomplete, turns out I was always close
But used you to get far

Or at least that’s what I think I’m doing
