We take the city bus and train to school in Chicago. Not everyone but that’s the norm. Especially with nobody going to school where they supposed to

My mother got robbed of her necklace on the Red Line in the 80’s. My grandfather and his siblings stopped their kids from riding on public transport after that.

I don’t blame them. I done seen so much shyt on CTA and the train. When I think back it was crazy as hell we was kids taking busses and trains across town. Then it’s so much shyt to get into on the way there and back. You basically a kid with all kind of independence and freedom. It’s been plenty of times I never even went to school and just explored the city and came back when I was supposed to. shyt dangerous as hell when I think about it. But shyt was just normal.
