took ashes to go as i went into work this morning. one of the local episcopal parishes has priest stationed at the subway disseminating ashes to commuters.
oan, i've been discerning a conversion to the roman catholic church from the episcopal church for some time now. with the new pope being from my city, feel like it may be a good time to do so. just kinda hard to find a black parish with black priests and a professional congregation. most of the black catholic congregations are working class. there are some haitian parishes that are professional but their services are done in haitian creole. don't have a problem attending a white parish but would like to be received into the church from a black parish.
