This. Just make the game half classic/3D, half top down (and side scrolling) shmup.
And you think just half assing the same ol shyt will bring the masses back to the franchise?
Nobody gives a shyt about Star Fox anymore so they have to make a splash to get people excited for it again.
What you're suggesting would not accomplish that. It would please the hardcore star Fox fan who still cares. But clearly its not a bid deal anymore so.....

So then the OG came out when you was 4, you probably missed out right? And then Star Fox 64 when you was 8
I didn't like 64 as much. But it was cool to me. Afterwards, it went cartoony and lost its luster. The original was built on what they was calling VR at the time. So as gamers it was like playing a Virtual Reality Star Fighter.... at home... in 1993. That was the selling point. Just like a FX racing
To remove the very reason for why the game was created... and to replace it with cartoony graphics? That's not Star Fox :stop:

Not to me. And its why I have no interest until they go back to that origin but in a new and spectacular way. When I mentioned actual Virtual reality for the new one? Its gotta be the direction Nintendo is going at the time. Like, they can't do it on VR today because Nintendo doesn't do VR
But if they try to sell a headset one day? Star Fox will be a title they make for it. That's when it can make its big splash back into relevancy :francis:

If we go back in time, lots of games have been improved upon or the industry as a whole has changed, technology advances/etc.
So the impact can't be duplicated. Only improved upon. Star Fox 1 was as big of a deal as Call of Duty is now to put it into its proper context/perspective. Something you as a child wouldn't even be aware of at the time. You can't have the next game with out the first.
And the first is considered the best by the majority so the only question is why? Now watch below...
So doing the same shyt will bring the people back. Cool story bro :tu: now lets look at sales for the franchise...
The best-selling Star Fox game is the original Star Fox for SNES, with around 4 million copies sold, followed by Star Fox 64 with over 4 million copies sold. Later titles had significantly lower sales, with Star Fox Adventures (1.82 million), Star Fox Assault (0.899 million), and Star Fox 64 3D (1.07 million) selling under two million. The lowest-selling entries were Star Fox Command (0.456 million) and Star Fox Zero (0.44 million).
Can we agree that the data suggest I'm correct in my assessment? And there are more gamers each generation so the potential to sell more increased each gen yet the sales trend is going backwards. But more of the same will bring people back you say?

I'm sorry sir, but that is a VIRTUAL flat out fabrication of REALITY

:mjlol: All they have to do is make a good game without adding a shytty gimmick. No VR, no motion controls, no dual screens, no gyro aiming, and no Zelda clones. Just make a good game with a dope art style, ost, gameplay, and lots of replay value.

You're not describing Star Fox, you're describing Gradius. Every game has to have something that makes it stand out from other games.
Star Fox is VR starfighting. That's literally what the series was created for. Sure, any good ship fighter is welcome from Rogue Squadron to UN Squadron. Crimson Skies... like, all these games have something that makes them unique. What's crazy to me is for anyone to suggest Star Fox should not return to its roots when the series was its most relevant. I haven't played a star Fox game since Gamecube or Wii? I didn't like it at all, and each new iteration seems to be less and less popular. So for this series to have any chance at being what it once was?

It has to be flashy, because nobody will check for it. Even if its a good cartoony looking game. Most will not give a shyt. The sales of the last 4 Star Fox games PROVES THIS so you can't just say "Well the next one will be different"

Maybe Unreal 5 but still maintaining a pseudo VR ascetic. That's what would bring ME BACK and I speak for the majority of the other Star Fox fans who have abandoned the series. If you still a fan, then you became one when the series became wack.
