So Star Fox when it first came out was special because it was making use of Nintendos special graphic chip
Before the FX shyt. And Sega was doing their VR games which was just virtual games so Virtua Fighter/etc came from that

As all those games evolved, Star Fox didn't really find its way because the whole virtual angle was a big part
Moving into these cartoony 3D spaces doesn't hit the same. And Star Fox will remain irrelevant overall until they can tap into that VR angle they was built up on. Maybe there will be a VR device from Nintendo eventually as technology advances. Star Fox will be reborn when that happens.
