From what I've read fam, I heard it worked but was just a beyatch to program games for it. If you look at a game like Nights into Dreams you see how nice those 3d graphics & gameplay were back in the day. PS1 wasn't effing with graphics & game play like that. Even the Panzer Dragoon series were with the 3d gameplay.

Son a game like Pandemonium had graphics like Nights..Pandemonium 2 had better...there's literally no question PS1 did 3d better than Saturn..the reason it was so hard to develop for is it wasn't initially made for it..Saturn was not made to be 3d..

And the only reason it was rushed to the market was because US Sega was furious Japan Sega was eating so good off the Saturn while they were stuck trying to market and program the flopped 32X. Sega of US wanted that money ASAP

Actually just read this book, it's a good read about the behind-the-scenes corporate stuff of the 16 bit era, leading up to the Saturn launch:

Based on what's said in there, it was actually the other way around: SoJ had SoA by the balls and forced them to move up the launch. Kalinske and basically his entire team that had been successful with the Genesis moved on after that. Of course, hindsight's 20/20 and he could be trying to protect his own legacy by saying this, but there was definitely a bit of a power struggle between the two branches that left the company in a huge mess.

Pandemonium looks good bruh for back then so I see where you're coming from but I don't know Fam. If you look at 2 games they did DBZ Legends which had 3d elements you can see Saturn did it better when the programmers got it right:

If u gonna say DBZ had 3D elements u might as well say that type of shyt about Donkey Kong Country and Killer Instinct for SNES...it's no question that Saturn had the better fighting gameplay than ps1...I said it was created to be a high end 2D system...shyt like 2D gaming with 3D elements was right up their alley...but overall...3D gaming was not the thing on Saturn...it wasnt meant to be..it wasn't done better either..fam..do u know how many 3D franchises started on PS1?...Metal Gear Solid..Resident Evil Series...Silent Hill..Tekken....Brave Fencer..Fear Effect..Parasite Eve...etc etc..there's just SO MUCH content and worlds created on PS1 that there's literally no argument fam..lol

Yeah you're right fam on 3d as a whole. I forgot about the Saturn 3d processor being added in addition to the other two when they found out about Sony's hardware.

Sega was too ahead of their time. Everybody ended up doing what they did, especially post Dreamcast.

I also think that SquareSoft had a lot to do with it as well.

It was was system support rep....trust me I know...I had 32x AND Sega cd. I literally had ONE game for 32x (Doom) and there weren't many more games after that...pissed me off.

I got decent play out my Sega cd though...a lot of "full motion" games tho...I had prize fighter/night trap/ground zero texas/dracula/sonic cd/and the basketball game with scottie pippen lol. Ground zero Texas was classic tho

saturn failed because the shyt was an accessory to a console to make a console another console. people weren't trying to have their console form up like voltron to play a damn game

Saturn had the developers fam. The problem was Sega of Japan didn't wanna port their games to the U.S. because they didn't think RPG's & other titles would sell over here. They couldn't have been more wrong. Look at the RPG craze & explosion here since the 90's. Us Saturn owners were denied great games back in the day because of that.

that's very well possible...i was just speaking on the actual time and experience of the saturn. as i mentioned before alot of people are just talking about it because they read/heard about it on the internet. the whole internet revisionist shyt is real...
edit-everyone that knows about this system now knows it was ahead of it's time. i pretty much insinuate'd that in my original post
